Gillfor Distribution is looking for a forklift/engineered wood handler to join our branch in Kelowna, BC.Job Summary:The primary function of the Engineered Wood Forklift/Handler is to receive, store and ship inventory within the Engineered Wood Operations Department, but not to the exclusion of other duties and tasks as required.Performance Requirements:The engineered wood operations forklift/handler performs some or all of the following tasks:- Determine the location of stocks in order to ensure rapid flow and management of inventory.- Identify, package and prepare orders to ship.- Receive incoming stocks while respecting the required documentation.- Develop a general understanding of all products.- Maintain good working relationships with all employees, customers and carriers.- Ensure proper maintenance of forklifts and other equipment provided.- Ensure, through communication with the site supervisor, that the orders to be executed can be executed.- Maintain computer skills needed to perform duties.- Follow policies and procedures regarding safety, decorum and housekeeping.- Be prepared to provide assistance to any other department if necessary.- Perform all other tasks assigned.Performance Standards:- A high school diploma is required- Experience with engineered wood products in warehousing and distribution required- Forklift experience/training with engineered wood products required- Chainsaw training/experience required- Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) required by the employer- This is a physically demanding position and candidates must be physically fit and able to lift if necessary.- The position requires working in an outdoor environment throughout the year.Gillfor Distribution is a 100% Canadian owned and operated company that stretches across Canada with 14 locations from coast to coast.
