Posted by:Active: YesterdayI'm a single father that shares / co-parents our son Moses, 9 years on a 50/50 - week on / week off - basis. Our Moses is a very bright and fun young little man and we decided to homeschool him after having found out in his development over the years, that he is a very free spirt that doesn't fit in a conventional schooling system like many children in this day and age. Moses was diagnosed with ADHD after having completed a psycho educational test with him. We have tried various routes from Calgary Arts Academy, to conventional local schooling for a year, as well we tried to online and outdoor school etc. We all are still learning and exploring to find the best modalities between home schooling, being single parents and as well go to work. Myself I work in Motion Picture and my schedule is production / show related and I have gaps in between show runs. For example I have just been home for a entire year to be with my son, while we were exploring different avenues of options for our future proceedings between home and worklife. Our son is a very sport active child that loves to move. The last 2 winters Moses was playing Hockey. Last summer he tried also a season Baseball during the summer. He used to play also Soccer for 3 years. Friday he goes to Teakwondo / Martial Art in Seton and he just completed the blue belt with success and is now in the grade of purple belt. Friday schedule has now changed to 19:00pm and we parents will take care of that. We are just setting up a schedule for Moses to visit and be part of an outdoor program on Monday's down in SE and we are in the application process. The children learning outdoor and survival skills in a group of mixed age children. Every Wednesdays he joins a group of home schooling children from around 11:00 - 14:00 pm called walking Wednesdays for various activities around town. The person that spends the day with Moses would have to be able to come to our home in the mornings around 08:30am - 17:30pm and spend the day with him in learning activities like reading and writing, playing, doing out door activities... take Moses to his various groups and activities and what ever the person, that will join us has to offer on inspirations for him that are new and of interest to our son. Moses is very simple and easy going with food and has no allergies or any restrictions. Now looking for a Nanny is certainly a new route for me/us to try, as I had to return to work and the show that I'm working momentarily on will be going til October / November. This 7-8 month period would also be our schedule requirements for now, that we are looking to cover. Additional note: We are having a brand new built (it's just getting ready) single bedroom suite downstairs that is just getting finished by around mid April next month and if someone would look for something to live in our house then we could provide that option. The suit is about 700sq/ft and has its own side entrance, full kitchen - living room, bathroom, bedroom and washer/dryer. We do have a lockable door that can be opened and used to go between our living quarters and the basement suit - for the practicality of such situation. We would have to negotiate the terms for a rent exchange and paying for the services of care taking of Moses. Basically we would need a Nanny for 5 days every second week. In total 10 days a month taking away Bank holidays that fall in our week. I mostly won't work on Bank holidays. But some I do, like the coming Good Friday Easter weekend, but will have off on Easter Monday. I'm looking forward and being very hopeful in finding the right person that can help us during the daytimes and this all together will assist me in being able to fulfil my duties as a father in supporting my Son in his development and growth in the a new way. This is a new avenue for all of us and a first time if we will find the right Nanny. Everything else and exact details, questions and concerns can be answered at any time.MoreSalary $22/hour30 - 40 hours/weekScheduleDesired start date Apr 20, 2026MorningAfternoonEveningOvernightMTWThFSaSuAge of the child(ren)Number of children in the family: 1Newborn1-2 years3-5 years6-9 yearsover 10 yearsNanny/Babysitter is responsible forPrepare meals for kidsTransport childrenHelp with homeworkKeep the kitchen tidyOrganize and plan eventsAdditional requirementsValid driver's licenseRequired to use own car Active: Yesterday • Member since: March 2026Address
