For more information visit .Reporting to the Supervisor – Maintenance, the HD Mechanic is responsible performing routine maintenance and repairs on heavy equipment in the mining industry. Supports the Maintenance department's efforts to ensure the reliability and performance of mining equipment.Location: Blackwater Mine siteSchedule: Two (2) Weeks On – Two (2) Weeks Off RotationEmployment Type: Permanent Responsibilities:
  • Demonstrate effective safety leadership by addressing and enforcing BW Golds safety standards, procedures, and safety systems.
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on heavy equipment, including haul trucks, loaders, dozers, and excavators.
  • Apply proper diagnostic techniques to identify mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues with equipment.
  • Assist with the disassembly, inspection, and reassembly of components and systems, such as engines, transmissions, brakes, and hydraulic systems.
  • Participate in training and development activities to enhance technical skills and knowledge of heavy equipment maintenance and repair.
  • Demonstrate a willingness to learn and take on new challenges, while contributing to the overall success of the Maintenance department.
Qualifications:
  • Completion of high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Heavy Duty Mechanic Red Seal Certification
  • Valid driver's license
Skills
  • Ability to work at a remote location camp on a 2 weeks on/2 weeks off rotation
  • Comfortable working and living in close quarters with the team
  • Ability to maintain high levels of performance over 12-hour shift
  • Ability to lift/move up to 50lbs throughout a work shift
  • Ability to work in extreme weather conditions
  • Advanced knowledge of mechanical systems, tools, and equipment.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
  • Willingness to learn and follow instructions from colleagues, supervisors and superintendents.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • CAT training and experience would be highly regarded.
