- Motivate and inspire a team of officers who will enhance the guest experience and a team who see themselves within the entertainment business;
- Provide leadership, direction and mentoring to the security team at the site level, including coaching, developing performance objectives and holding Performance Partnership discussions with team members;
- Inquisitive, investigative mind, able to identify suspicious behaviours /transactions and make sound judgments based on this;
- Create and implement security plans as assigned;
- Understanding the management of the site security budget; reports variances; makes recommendations to the Assistant Security Manager;
- Oversee various critical security systems (e.g., Key Control, Itrak, Facial Recognition);
- Develop and implement training for security operations; ensures team members are trained in Emergency Response procedures;
- Develop, prepare and maintain site-specific tactical responses to emergency events along with managing drill procedure throughout the year;
- Review reports on violations, unsafe conditions, potential hazards, suspicious persons and activities and identifies the need for investigations and conducts as directed;
- Support the site First Aid program; reviews First Aid reports; ensures First Aid staff are appropriately trained and scheduled;
- Oversee departmental schedules to ensure efficiencies are met;
- Champion RG initiatives daily;
- Conduct on-going site risk assessments; identifies areas of practice or equipment that meet security best practices; identifies opportunities for efficiencies to the Assistant Security Manager;
- Administer evacuations; prepare evacuation checklists;
- Maintain database of active team members;
- Liaise and communicate effectively with all appropriate operational departments;
- Develop and cultivate strong working relationships with all stakeholders: guests, regulatory bodies, management and team members;
- Ensure compliance with licensing laws, health and safety and other statutory regulations.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in gaming security or surveillance management;
- Post-secondary education or suitable combination of continuing education and experience;
- Ability to exceed internal and external guest expectations through timely, effective and service oriented communication;
- Computer literacy in MS Office;
- Ability to successfully obtain Smart Serve certification;
- Must be AMFR Certified;

- Ability to successfully obtain a Category 1 Gaming Assistant license through the Alcohol & Gaming Commission of Ontario.
- Fast paced with multiple priorities, deadlines and deliverables; exposure to some conflict, distress and noise;
- The role requires a flexible schedule that adapts to business needs, will have non-traditional work hours including evening or weekend shifts.
