- Work closely with shipping/inventory team to provide appropriate escalation of issues then quickly resolve issues in the most efficient manner.
- Communicate and coordinate with maritime shipping lines, freight forwarder, truckers, shipping yards, make the appropriate booking according to the terms of sales contracts.
- Handle bookings according to contractual shipping requirements (Incoterm, packaging, weight restrictions, container size etc.)
- Coordinate all aspects of shipment process, including booking, e-manifesting, Bills of Lading and freight invoices.
- Prepare and approve export related shipping documents, confirm accuracy and perform data input.
- Obtain the loading pictures on all shipments, provide to customers upon request
- Create B13/AES export Declaration for Canadian/US exports.
- Save digital copy of relevant correspondence and documents.
- Handle a high volume of correspondence with divisions, overseas offices, customers and transport service providers.
- Perform other related duties as may be required.
- You have a minimum of 2-3 years of experience in freight forwarding or handling FCL/LCL Ocean export.
- You have knowledge of export regulations, CAED/AES, full understanding of Incoterms
- You have the ability to work with Microsoft Outlook, SharePoint, Teams, Word, Excel.
- You have organizational skills (prioritize, plan, assign and control).
- You have troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with the ability to evaluate current situation, respond quickly to changing requirements, and execute accordingly.
- You have the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced working environment.
- You are able to work independently while also collaborating effectively as a team player.
- You have good verbal and writing skills: French and English
- You have post-secondary education, preferably in business, transportation, logistics management, which is considered an asset.
