- Design of electrical power and distribution systems, lighting, grounding and control systems
- Design and supervise production of drawings and specifications for complete electrical and automation systems including single line diagram, AC/DC schematics, field and panel control devices and SCADA for various processes including water/wastewater treatment, and utility applications.
- Strictly adhere to AECOM's project and Quality standards, including capability of learning and adopting clients' standard and requirements upon request
- Ensure accuracy, completeness, and quality of technical aspect on project documentation produced in accordance with AECOM QA/QC procedures and the clients' standards.
- Ensure that project deliverables are produced in a timely manner to expected quality and allocated budget.
- Work with Construction Contract Administrator to review Shop Drawings, prepare and issue responses to contractor queries.
- Perform site inspections and issue inspection reports, issue Field Instructions and Field Orders, and prepare deficiency reports.
- Provide technical support through all phases of the project.
- Understands the importance of meeting schedules, deadlines and good time management.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical / I&C Engineering + 2 years of related experience in engineering design in a multi-disciplinary electrical, instrumentation & control environment for production, including field services during construction phase of projects.
- Registered as an EIT with APEGA or ability to become registered within 6-12 months.
- 4+ years of experience in electrical, instrumentation, and control design within multidisciplinary project environments, including construction-phase field support.
- Strong experience producing detailed design and tender documentation (e.g., P&IDs, single-line diagrams, schematics, wiring diagrams, cable schedules, and layout drawings).
- Knowledge of protection relays, PLC-based systems, and low-voltage (600V) MCCs is an asset.
- Proficiency with electrical design software (e.g., SKM, ETAP) is an asset.
- Solid understanding of applicable codes and standards (CEC, NFPA, CSA, and provincial building codes).
- Ability to interpret specifications and translate them into accurate, high-quality design deliverables with minimal supervision.
- Strong problem-solving, critical thinking, and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
