Transforming the world.Wood is currently seeking a Senior Structural Designer to join our Eastern Canada Operations team.   • Production of models and drawings on time and within budget
  • Clarity and accuracy of models and drawings
  • Knowledge and adherence to design procedures
  • Knowledge of and adherence to applicable standards and the company's Drafting Procedures
  • Completion of error-free drawings to sound engineering practices
  • Accurate completion and timely submission of timesheets
  • To actively pursue excellent Health, Safety, and Environmental performance standards and to encourage all staff to achieve or outperform the indicated HSE KPI's of the company
  • Detailed design and production of structural models and drawings encompassing all aspects of a building's/structure's construction package in accordance with relevant standards and project requirements
  • Timely completion of drawings to schedules
  • Adherence to project man-hour budgets
  • Adherence to company Standards and Procedures
  • Assist with the training of junior drafting people
  • Be accustomed to working within a multi-disciplinary environment

  • Currently authorized to lawfully work in Canada without sponsorship from Wood is required
  • Minimum of 10 years' design drafting experience, of which 5 years are in the mining and minerals processing area, or Renewable Energy sectors
  • Proven expertise working with 2D CAD & 3D CADWorx or Revit software
  • Proven expertise in processing large-scale laser scan point clouds
  • Experience performing Scan-to-BIM workflows to generate high-accuracy structural models and conduct complex clash detection
  • Experience with Excel, Navis Works, AutoCAD, MS Office
  • Broad knowledge of construction and operations
  • Good understanding of technology
  • Experience with Process Plant design and layout
  • Understanding of other discipline requirements
  • Checking skills with the ability to work unsupervised, focus on task completion
  • Site Experience considered an asset
  • Attention to detail and pride in work quality
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong client focus
