Job Title Senior Vice President, Retail LeasingJob Description Summary Our leasing team positions across Canada with national and international relationships and in-depth market knowledge to deliver a full-service experience for our clients – delivery results throughout the full life cycle of the lease. Our teams are fully licensed in every provide we transact in.This role is to lead the overall direction, strategy, and growth of the retail platform for C&W in Canada by furthering the development of alignment with owners on retailer tenant representation and agency leasing, and, for working with colleagues on the development and promotion of all C&W businesses and services which affect C&W’s retail real estate clients.This role will also carry out the daily activities of the Retail Leasing Department in accordance with organizational policies and standards. The individual will be responsible for all retail leasing functions for a portfolio of retail. He or she will rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals and performs a variety of complicated tasks with a wide degree of creativity. Responsibility for the financial budgets and management of the leasing team.Job DescriptionGeneral Responsibilities:Develop, lead, and execute strategic growth initiatives for the Retail platform in conjunction with the Asset Services lead.Develop and help lead appropriate expertise-based leasing team that leverage key experiences, qualifications, and talents available in the group.Provide oversight and direction over C&W’s participation at retail related industry events, client events, retail conferencesEnsure other Service Lines coordinate on pitches when Retail capabilities are incorporated.Review team revenue production, including existing and projected activity monthly, to ensure that the team have the needed support and tools necessary to be productive for the clients.Client Liaison on strategic assignments and monitoring all leasing team performance.Establish and maintain a strong knowledge and understanding of the Retail industry market dynamics.Specific projects: Establish leasing targets, develop, and manage leasing budgets, identify and pursue tenancy for specific projects.Manage leasing strategy for Portfolio projects with the responsibly for finalizing deals in a timely manner.Manage retail knowledge and portfolio reviews with respect to new tenants, renewals, bankruptcies.Develop and maintain business relationship with commercial real estate brokers, retailers and clients.Prepare, negotiate, and document lease proposals, offer to lease, amendments, surrenders.Liaise with the lease documentation team to ensure accuracy of documentation.Liaise with the construction, architectural, property management departments to obtain pricing, and ensure timelines are met.Visit various properties to ensure a strong understanding of various markets and locations.Prepare and revise leasing plans for specific assets where required.Provide input and direction on new acquisitions with respect to feasibility and market conditions as it relates to leasing.Qualifications:The following are the minimum requirements to be considered for this role:Must be a registered salesperson/broker in good standing in the province(s) where they operate.Minimum of 10-15 years of applicable experience in retail leasing (enclosed malls, strip centers and large format centers) with extensive tenant and industry contacts.Proven strategic thinking with respect to redevelopments and/or property re-sets.Bachelor’s degree in Business or other related degree strongly preferred;Strong presentation skills for interaction with prospective tenants and clientsExceptional negotiating skills accompanied by strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with the organization and to prospective tenants and clients.Effective time management skills and must be able to handle multiple tasks/projects in a fast-paced environment.Be a driven individual with proven high deal count while achieving quality transactions that enhance profile of properties.Proficient financial, budget, computer and software skills.Strong Customer Service skills.Interpersonal skills, able to work well with others in a team environment.Must be able to successfully clear a background check.Cushman & Wakefield is committed to equity in employment and our goal is to have a diverse, inclusive, and barrier-free workplace.
