
Construction - Carpenter - Red Seal Equivalent

- Lead, coordinate, and assist a team of carpenters and apprentices on day-to-day tasks.
- Interpret construction drawings and plans to determine scope, material requirements, and layout.
- Execute layout and installation of structural and architectural components in compliance with building codes.
- Construct, install, and repair frameworks, walls, partitions, floors, ceilings, roofs, stairs, and door/window systems using wood, engineered wood products, and other materials.
- Perform accurate formwork, framing, sheathing, and interior finishing, including doors, trims, hardware, and cabinetry.
- Fabricate and install custom millwork, panels, and finishing details with attention to precision and aesthetics.
- Operate and maintain a full range of hand tools, power tools, and site equipment.
- Identify and resolve on-site issues or design discrepancies, communicating solutions to the project team.
- Monitor daily progress and provide updates to the site superintendent.
- Adapt to evolving site conditions, project scope, or scheduling changes and communicate impacts clearly.
- Promote and enforce safety procedures, including review of Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs) and active participation in toolbox talks and site safety meetings.
- Contribute to a positive team culture and uphold professional site conduct.
- Perform other duties as required.
- Red Seal Carpenter Certification (or equivalent Journeyperson qualification).
- Minimum 3 years of leadership or supervisory experience in carpentry.
- Demonstrated expertise in formwork, structural framing, and finishing carpentry.
- Strong knowledge of residential and/or commercial construction practices.
- Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints and technical drawings.
- Thorough understanding of National and Provincial Building Codes.
- Skilled in the use of a wide range of carpentry tools and equipment.
- Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving abilities.

- Must be able to stand and/or be on their feet 10-12 hours/day working in outdoor weather and/or unregulated temperatures
- Must be able to lift 50lbs and use proper lifting techniques for heavy items weighing more than 25 kilograms
- Must be able to climb scaffoldings.
- Possesses and maintains necessary tools, equipment, and protective gear.
