- Manage daily operations, including leading and participating in the planning, implementation, and administration of all work activities
- Provide subject matter expertise in the areas of disability management, adjudication, and return to work practices
- Lead and motivate a team in providing excellent customer service
- Assign work to the team to maintain optimum service levels
- Provide leadership, advice, guidance, and direction on policies, business plans, and operational matters
- Manage and administer the annual operating budget
- Hire and orient employees, set performance goals and mentor and coach employees in career development
- Create a supportive work environment with open communication and teamwork
- Promote a quality service-oriented approach in providing services to external and internal clients by communicating with confidence, and approaching difficult conversations with assurance
- Take initiative, provide leadership, delegate and monitor work, motivate and mentor others to deliver outstanding service to our customers
- Provide subject matter expertise and teach and coach others in the areas of return-to-work planning, functional activities, critical job demands analysis, and removing barriers to return to work
- Listen to understand, facilitate meetings and conversations to influence and persuade others, clearly articulate ideas, and confidently present and summarize information
- Create an environment that encourages and supports the development and success of individuals on your team, enabling them to contribute to the team and reach their maximum potential
- Achieve positive outcomes despite stressors – demonstrating a high level of personal resiliency, applying strong organization and time management skills
- A bachelor’s degree – A degree in a health-related field is an asset
- A minimum of five years of experience in a role providing leadership in disability management, return to work practices, or adjudication
- Sound project management skills
- Presentation skills including the ability to create and deliver PowerPoint presentations
- Knowledge of the Workers Compensation Act and claims adjudication experience
- Consent to a criminal record check and meet the legal requirements under the Criminal Records Review Act to work with children and/or vulnerable adults.
