Remote Flexibility: Hybrid Remote FlexibilityA leading Toronto law firm is seeking a Litigation Legal Assistant to support two lawyers in their busy commercial litigation practice. This role requires a proactive, detail-oriented professional with excellent organizational skills and strong knowledge of Ontario court rules and procedures.Duties and Responsibilities:
- Prepare and assemble legal documents for complex commercial disputes, debtor-creditor matters, real estate disputes, fraud, class actions, bankruptcy, insolvency, and contract disputes
- Draft, format, and file court documents; organize pleadings, motion records, trial records, and books of authorities
- Manage daily correspondence, client files, and file organization
- Schedule meetings, coordinate appointments, and maintain calendars
- Assist with docketing, billing, and other administrative tasks
- Provide general legal and administrative support as required
- Legal Assistant or Law Clerk diploma from a recognized institution
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a commercial litigation practice
- Strong knowledge of Ontario court rules, procedures, and filing requirements
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams), PDF software, DocuSign, and document management systems (e.g., iManage)
- Excellent organizational and time management skills to handle multiple priorities and deadlines
- Strong communication and client service skills with the ability to build positive relationships
- Independent and team-oriented, with high attention to detail and accuracy
- Solutions-driven with sound judgment and adaptability
