
Marine Structures Team Lead - Western Canada

- Coordinating commitments of the Marine Structures Department (in accordance with project scope, schedule, budget and procedures) to ensure successful project completion with an emphasis on the development of a dedicated “Contract Administration and Project Management” Sub-Discipline;
- Resolving overall project execution issues, including management of Master Service Agreements (MSA) and project resourcing needs related to Site Supervision Services, Contract Administration Services and Owner’s Representative services as required
- Establishing and implementing improvements to existing methods, procedures and toolsets
- Coordinating the departmental resource assignment for an appropriate projects staffing while ensuring continuous career development for staff
- Recruiting new team members, assisting with performance reviews, performance management, and facilitating training and development opportunities
- Providing mentoring, coaching, and technical guidance to marine structure engineers to ensure the technical adequacy of all engineering work
- Participating in or leading the preparation of estimates and project proposals (or coordinating resources to do so) and approving the estimates for Marine Structures Engineering
- Interfacing with clients, including making technical and commercial presentations

- An undergraduate or Graduate Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from a recognized institution. A post graduate qualification in port planning, structural engineering or related field is a definite asset
- Minimum 10 years of engineering experience with an engineering consultant or other large organization, with a minimum of 5 years ports and maritime related project experience in Canada or overseas
- Registration as a professional engineer with EGBC (P.Eng)
- Supervisory background and proven leadership skills, with an ability to establish a high degree of credibility with staff and clients
- Fluency in the English language. Capabilities in French and/or Spanish are a definite asset
