Join us as we help people all over the world thrive at work.Reporting to the Manager, Canadian Award Strategy, the Buyer identifies, sources, analyzes and manages a core product line of merchandise for client programs and events. The ability to adapt to change and work in both a team environment and independently are key success factors in this role.Responsibilities
  • Manage award assortment and strategy for assigned category
  • Regularly review category catalogue to ensure optimal assortment, award availability and competitive pricing
  • Maintain and build strategic partnerships with suppliers
  • Consistently analyze consumption of products and retail trends to determine when products should be removed and added
  • Initiate and host vendor meetings as well as attend relevant trade shows
  • Provide premium client experience as it relates to resolving customer and/or supplier issues
  • Manage all aspects of inventory for assigned category including purchasing, forecasting, issue resolution and sales analysis
  • Minimize client impact by ensuring continual availability of products within assigned category
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Post-secondary education
  • Exceptional analytical skills
  • Strong understanding of product trends and research skills
  • Outstanding team player as well as being a self-starter who can demonstrate the ability to work independently
  • Flexible approach and ability to adapt to change
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with emphasis on exceptional negotiation and motivational skills
  • Proficiency in MS Office Products and web based applications
  • Experience working with ERP systems
  • Demonstrated leadership skills
Assets
  • 1-3 years relevant work related experience
  • Procurement experience (preferably within consumer products) including sourcing, supplier relationships and sales trend analysis
  • Incentive industry experience
  • French/English bilingualism

Additional Information
The base salary range for this position is $57,000 - $70,000 per annum + bonuses. Our salary ranges are determined by job and level.
