The Satellite Flight Software System Engineer will perform and participate in the following activities, depending on the candidate’s background and experience:Support mission analysis, planning, and requirementsSystem architecture and technical responsibility for communication or remote sensing satellites, including:Specification of software functions and features in accordance with mission requirements in collaboration with the avionics teamManagement of payload embedded software functions and interfacesSupport database and FDIR definitionVerification and validation of flight software from SIL to HILWrite test and validation plans and test requirementsAnomaly analysis and bug reportingSupport Space Segment and Ground Segment ICDs for end-to-end systemsRequirements definition and flow-down, SOC, verification, and validation matrixSupport all program reviews, including EQSR, SRR, PDR, CDR, and TRRSupport integration and test phase activitiesWhat you must have:Bachelor’s degree in engineering in a relevant field with 7+ years of relevant experiencePrevious system design and testing experience with Flight Software for LEO/MEO/GEO satellitesRelevant experience working with CCSDS, ECSS, and PUS servicesStrong understanding of spacecraft avionics subsystems, such as AOCSUnderstanding of 1553, SpaceWire, RS422/485, CAN, and EthernetExperience with real-time cores and/or embedded Linux, Matlab/SimulinkUnderstanding of the space environment and orbit mechanicsStrong understanding of space systems engineering fundamentalsExperience with qualification and acceptance testing of new designsHigh degree of attention to detailDemonstrated capability to efficiently work with little to no supervisionAbility to distill complex problems to fundamentals and solve them through analysis, similarity, or creativityExcellent written and verbal communication skills in an English and French working environmentExperience leading and coaching a technical teamSalary/ Rate Range: $115,000.00 – $160,000.00Thank you for your interest in this opportunity.
