- Process payroll on a scheduled basis (semi - monthly) with a high level of accuracy.
- Collect, verify, and enter employee timecards, hours worked, overtime, and other earnings.
- Review payroll data for completeness and resolve discrepancies prior to processing.
- Maintain and update employee payroll records, including new hires, terminations, rate changes, and deductions.
- Calculate wages, review statutory deductions (CPP, EI, income tax), and other payroll withholdings.
- Ensure compliance with Canadian employment standards, tax regulations, and company policies.
- Prepare payroll-related reports, ROEs, T4s, and assist with year-end processing.
- Respond to employee inquiries regarding pay, deductions, vacation pay, and benefits in a timely and professional manner.
- Reconcile payroll reports and assist with audits or internal reviews as required.
- Collaborate closely with HR and Finance teams to ensure data accuracy and payroll integrity.
- Support continuous improvement of payroll processes and internal controls.
- Perform all other duties as assigned by Supervisor or Management.
- Post-secondary education in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field (preferred).
- 1–3 years of payroll or accounting experience; aviation or multi-location payroll experience is an asset.
- Working knowledge of Canadian payroll legislation, tax requirements, and employment standards.
- Familiarity with payroll systems and HRIS platforms.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other MS Office applications.
- Strong attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to meet strict deadlines.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
- Problem-solving mindset with the ability to investigate and resolve payroll discrepancies.
