As a Specialist, Technical Quality Standards & Professional Compliance you will shape how regulatory compliance, technical governance, and professional practice evolve across WSP Canada. You will drive national consistency, strengthen quality, and ensure WSP maintains its standing with professional engineering associations across the country - enabling our teams to deliver industry-leading work with integrity, accountability, and technical excellence.Your ImpactIn this strategic role, you will help shape the country's technical standards. As a Specialist, Technical Quality Standards & Professional Compliance, you will be responsible for:Lead the national professional association compliance process, including managing certificates of authorization, permits, and licenses.Advise leadership on compliance risks and evolving regulatory standards affecting engineering practice.Act as a trusted resource to professionals, helping them interpret and apply association and WSP requirements * Maintain and oversee national inventories of permits, licenses, certifications, and registrations.
  • Manage relationships with professional associations and coordinate external audits.
  • Represent WSP with external regulators, associations, and audit bodies; coordinate audit responses and corrective actions.
Lead annual PPMP reviews and serve as Primary Responsible Registrant for EGBC.Design and maintain compliance training for registered professionals.Support post-acquisition activities: permit harmonization, integration, record updates, and team support.Strengthen national engineering and quality processes, including process mapping, standards management, and implementation of technical tools.Support technical governance, peer review, non-conformance management, and documentation.Contribute to technical risk management and continuous improvement across Canada.The Skills That Set You Apart
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering (or related technical field)
  • P.Eng. designation.
  • 7+ years in engineering delivery, technical governance, quality, assurance, compliance, or operational excellence within a multidiscipline environment.
  • Deep understanding of Canadian professional regulatory guidelines and the ability to translate them into practical business processes.
  • Proven experience improving governance systems (peer review, risk escalation, non-conformance management, audit readiness).
  • Strong program and project management abilities - from designing roadmaps to driving execution.
  • Ability to influence without authority and align diverse stakeholders across regions and sectors.
  • Fluency in English and French.
