- Report directly to the Langley Site Operations Manager for all aircraft modification issues.
- Exercise prime contractor responsibilities to establish and synchronize modification activities for both LM & Boeing CFT operations.
- Be the primary interface between Site leaders, CFT, LM Modifications, Upgrades, & Overhauls (MUO) technical experts, Boeing CFT Modification Lead, and Air Force Site leadership to deliver the aircraft on schedule.
- Oversee, direct and manage F-22 modernization upgrade maintenance to successfully install F-22 Depot/Organizational-Level modifications and upgrades.
- Coordinate all CFT technical activities with the CFT Modification Shift Leads, CFT Modification Supervisor and Site Operations Manager to allocate required resources (manpower, shifts, facilities, equipment, etc) to ensure on-time delivery of a modified aircraft.
- Ensure all required TCTO Kits, tooling and equipment are available to successfully execute the aircraft modifications and prevent delivery impacts.
- Effectively communicate directly with Air Force F-22 maintenance leaders on CFT pre-induction aircraft requirements, negotiate scheduled aircraft downtimes, provide mid-span production status, and updates on issues impacting scheduled delivery times.
- Approve all non-standard pre-induction configurations and mid-span part removals to prevent impacts to the aircraft modification timelines and on-time delivery.
- Approve and synchronize non-standard modification activities with the Langley Site CFT Operations Lead to accomplish other Air Force-requested work within the modification timelines.
- Provide daily status of the aircraft modification to Site and to MUO leaders.
- Enforce CFT compliance with established LM safety and occupational health, tool control, foreign object damage (FOD) prevention/control policies, and ensure mishaps and quality escapes are promptly reported to LM Site Quality Assurance and Site managers.
- Be willing/able to work any shift, any day, at any time, to include authorized overtime, weekends and holidays as necessary to support customer operational objectives.
- Resolve issues arising from operations and/or maintenance activities involving F-22 aircraft systems/subsystems performance, with specific expertise in F-22 modification activities.
- Ensure Action Requests (ARs) are initiated to identify and resolve unique operational and technical problems which require technical, procedural, or quality assurance actions to resolve.
- This is a non-rotational position that will be permanently assigned to the Langley AFB Site Team within the Aeronautics Field Services (AFS) business unit of LM Aeronautics.
- Must be willing/able to: receive immunizations, meet/satisfy required medical & training readiness prerequisites for on-site and off-site travel as determined by DOD/USAF agencies, to include vaccinations as directed by Executive Orders and public law.
- Must be able to wear Mission-Oriented Protective Posture (MOPP) chemical protection ensemble as required.
- Must be a US Citizen. Must have at minimum an Interim Secret Security Clearance. Must be able to obtain a Final Secret clearance.
- Minimum of 7 years' experience with F-22 aircraft maintenance or modification activities.
- Demonstrated experience in directing and sychronizing military organizational/intermediate-level aircraft maintenance operations.
- Experience in aircraft production control, maintenance scheduling, or aircraft quality assurance inspector responsibilities.
- Demonstrated success with interpreting schematic/blue prints, reading engineering drawings, and applying their intent to evaluate acceptance of a quality product.
- Proficient in using the F-22 Portable Maintenance Aid (PMA).
- Experience in performing aircraft system/subsystem troubleshooting and operational checkouts in an LO-coated aircraft maintenance and/or modification environment.
- Demonstrated success with public speaking, technical writing, prioritizing competing projects/tasks, multi-tasking diverse activities, and attention to detail.
- Experience with Microsoft Office products (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
- Experience in troubleshooting other military aircraft systems primarily categorized into Avionics and Airplane General (APG) areas of the F-22.
- Experience with performing other non-F-22 aircraft LO maintenance and leading the aircraft's maintenance or modification activities.
- Experience with engaging USAF organizational leaders to resolve resource shortfalls impacting mission completion.
- Experience with USAF products and processes to include F-22 hardware and maintenance, technical orders and technical drawings, at the organizational and intermediate levels.
- Previous or current Project Management experience.
- Experience with MS Project and Critical Path planning.
- Experience with CATIA V5 or equivalent CAD programs.
- Basic knowledge of SAP.
- Knowledge and understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
- Bachelor's degree.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
