- Lead and mentor a team of E/I technicians, providing in role, on the job training and support to enhance their skills and technical expertise.
- Provide performance feedback, coaching, and development opportunities to team members through a variety of work experiences.
- Foster a culture of safety, reliability, and continuous improvement.
- Oversee the maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of all electrical and instrumentation systems, including power distribution, control systems, sensors, and field instrumentation.
- Develop and implement preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance strategies for electrical and instrumentation equipment.
- Ensure that all maintenance work is properly documented in the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS), including equipment history, work order completion, and calibration records.
- Analyze data from the CMMS and other sources to identify trends, predict equipment failures, and optimize maintenance strategies.
- Ensure that all electrical and instrumentation systems are maintained in compliance with safety standards, industry regulations, and company policies.
- Ensure that all E/I maintenance activities comply with applicable electrical codes, safety regulations, and company policies.
- Ensure that safe work practices are followed during electrical work, including lockout/tagout (LOTO), arc flash protection, and proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Lead safety audits, incident investigations, and root cause analyses to identify and address potential hazards.
- Coordinate with Operations and other departments to plan and execute maintenance activities, minimizing disruption to production.
- Oversee contractors performing electrical and instrumentation work, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.
- Ensure cost-effective procurement of materials and services, maintaining quality and compliance with specifications
- Prioritization of work orders, ensuring timely and effective execution of maintenance tasks.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives aimed at increasing the reliability and efficiency of electrical and instrumentation systems.

- 10+ years of experience in electrical and instrumentation maintenance within an industrial setting, including in depth knowledge of power distribution, instrumentation and process control systems (PLC).
- 5+ years of project management experience within an industrial setting, including project controls, document management, management of change and QA/QC.
- Strong leadership experience, including managing electrical and instrumentation teams.
- Proficiency in using Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS), such as SAP, EAM or Maximo.
- Proficiency in MS Office 365 suite and project management tools.
- In-depth knowledge of electrical codes (e.g., CSA, NEC), instrumentation standards (ISA), and industry regulations.
- Proven ability to develop and implement maintenance strategies that improve equipment reliability and performance.
- Journeyman Electrician or Instrumentation Trade Certificate.
- Technical Diploma or Degree in Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation, or a related field is an asset.
- Strong organizational and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
- Physical ability to conduct field inspections, including climbing, bending, and working in confined spaces.
- Experience with root cause analysis, reliability-centered maintenance (RCM), and calibration practices.
- A safety-first mindset with a proven track record of maintaining high safety standards in electrical and instrumentation operations.
- Ability to respond to emergencies and work on-call as required to support 24/7 operations.
- Must be physically capable of frequent field inspections, including climbing, bending, and working in confined spaces.
- Comfortable and physically able to spend significant periods (25%+) in the field (job walkdowns, interaction with team to ensure quality of planning, etc.) including accessing equipment at heights, bending, and confined space entry, in all weather conditions.
- Requires substantial on-site presence, with the role being unsuitable for remote work arrangements.
- Fit for Duty; this is a safety-sensitive position, requiring a high degree of responsibility and alertness to maintain a safe working environment for all employees
