Compensation: $130,000–$150,000About the OpportunityA well-established general contractor is seeking a Senior Estimator to join its Western Canada team in Edmonton. This is a high-impact opportunity supporting major Industrial, Commercial, and Institutional (ICI) construction pursuits in a busy and competitive market.The successful candidate will play a key role in leading preconstruction efforts, preparing accurate conceptual and detailed estimates, managing bid strategy, and helping position projects for success from pursuit through buyout. This organization is actively growing in Alberta and is looking for a proven estimator who can contribute immediately in a fast-paced environment.What You Will Be Doing
- Lead project procurement, bid strategy, and preconstruction activities
- Prepare accurate, detailed, and well-organized budgets and estimates
- Develop conceptual budgets and support early-stage pricing strategy
- Manage bid submissions under tight deadlines and time-sensitive conditions
- Work across multiple contract models including Construction Management, Design-Build, P3, and Lump Sum
- Coordinate and level subcontractor pricing, identify gaps or risks, and escalate concerns as needed
- Support post-award activities including quote distribution, binder rewrites, and buyout assistance
- Contribute to value engineering efforts and identify project-specific risks and challenges
- Mentor and support junior estimating staff
- Build and maintain strong subcontractor and supplier relationships
- Maintain estimating databases including labour rates, material pricing, and project cost history
- Construction-related degree or diploma, or equivalent combination of technical training and experience
- 8–10+ years of estimating experience in Industrial, Commercial, and Institutional construction
- Strong experience with full-cycle estimating and preconstruction leadership
- Proven ability to develop conceptual budgets as well as detailed estimates
- Advanced understanding of estimating strategies, construction contracts, and commercial risk
- Experience leading or mentoring junior estimators
- Strong subcontractor management and bid-leveling experience
- Ability to work accurately and effectively in a deadline-driven environment
- Hands-on experience with estimating software such as OST and/or CostX
- Eligibility for Security Clearance due to project requirements
