- Identify the best source for new and existing R&D changes.
- Prepare RFQs and approve submitted quotations on new and existing parts.
- Work alongside the production engineering team to conduct make/buy decisions.
- Perform site visitations; assess capabilities, and quality process leading to supplier approval or rejection.
- Identify and implement cost savings initiatives.
- Work with the offshore sourcing team members to determine the best course of action for domestic or international procurement of parts.
- Monitor and work with the procurement team to assess supplier performance for Quality, Delivery, Cost, Inventory and Innovation. Including the development and maintenance of Supplier scorecards.
- Assist the purchasing department on technical and quality related production issues.
- Implement and improve the current Bourgault Production Part Approval Process (PPAP).
- Mitigate risk by continually upgrading our supply base to moving business from those who do not meet performance expectations.
- Self-directed and disciplined to drive results from overall project goals and objectives with minimal supervision.
- Maintain good relationships with suppliers by utilizing impartial and objective criteria, while understanding sales tactics intended to blur those criteria.
- Ability to independently execute on many different projects at the same time without jeopardizing the timelines or schedules.
- A strong sense of urgency and the ability to overcome barriers to achieve overall departmental goals.
- Work closely with various stakeholders including Production, QA, R&D, Finance & Warehouse as required.
- Work with the Linamar Ag procurement teams to identify and implement link and leverage opportunities.
- Take the lead on execution of quarterly Cost Attach Team events
- Proven Negotiation Skills.
- An Engineering Degree and/or Professional Designation is considered an asset but not required.
- Advanced Excel and Word & Power Point.
- A willingness to take business courses/training.
- A willingness to travel to supplier locations.
- Excellent written & verbal communication, engagement, and interpersonal skills.
- Self-Directed and disciplined to execute on multiple projects concurrently while maintaining required timelines.
- An ability to building strong, trusting relationships within and external to the company.
- A strong sense of urgency and the ability to overcome barriers to achieve overall departmental goals.
- Agricultural experience.
- R&D design background/experience.
- Manufacturing Experience.
- Strategic procurement and vendor engagement & management experience.
- Operations management experience.
- Familiarity with a variety of production processes including iron castings, electronics, hydraulics, steel fabrication, welding, machining, painting, assembly, and/or testing.
