Schedule: Full-time hours (40h/week) - Rotating shifts from Monday to Friday every two weeks - (7:30 am to 3:30 PM / 3:30 pm to 11:30 pm / 11:30 pm to 7:30 am)Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Works according to the plant Health and Safety policies. Contributes to enhance the EH&S program.
- Perform trouble shooting, calibration, and repair of production equipment as needed to always keep lines operational.
- Performs scheduled preventative maintenance to identify and replace failed components such as bearings, belts, motors, etc.
- Can read and interpret equipment manuals, drawings, schematics, blueprints, and work orders to perform required maintenance.
- Dismantles/disassembles defective machines and equipment and installs new or repaired parts, using specifications and/or blueprints, precision measuring instruments, and hand tools.
- Calibrations and adjustments on various types of devices and production control systems.
- Understands facilities, mechanical/electrical systems and their component functions and relationships; and is competent in their troubleshooting and repair
- Assist other maintenance and production team members as required in support of plant goals.
- Equipment selection - able to determine the kind of tools and equipment needed to perform the work
- Industrial Mechanic Millwright STO certification or 433A Certificate of Qualification
- Minimum three years of experience in an industrial maintenance capacity in a production setting.
- Demonstrated proficiency or documented certifications in the following skills: electrical systems, PLC troubleshooting/programming, pneumatics, preventive maintenance, compressors, welding, plumbing, conveyors, hydraulics, and pumps.
- Installation, troubleshooting, repair knowledge of electrical systems including 600v and below
- Demonstrated proficiency or documented certifications for diagnosing & troubleshooting controls systems and devices
- Able to interface and cooperate well with production line workers and supervisors, with a strong customer service mindset.
- Demonstrated ability to identify areas of improvement driving efficiency, profitability, or safety improvements.
- Proficient in reading and interpreting technical drawings, blueprints, and schematics.
- Basic math, reading, and computer skills (Microsoft Word & Excel, Outlook)
- Manufacturing safety program familiarity (PPE, LOTO, Arc Flash)
- Ability to solve problems and apply critical thinking.
- Able to work effectively and efficiently as part of a team.
- Ability to operate cranes, forklift, and other related equipment
- An ability to work solo as the sole mechanic on shift would be a great asset.
- Strong fabrication skills, including MIG welding, to build or modify existing machinery.
- Time management skillset to prioritize urgent repairs over scheduled repairs.
- Must be adaptable to variable work schedules as well as being on-call.
- Pride in workmanship and a willingness to learn.
- Experience with plastic production equipment a plus.
- Frequent standing, walking, and bending
- Ability to push, pull, and lift up to 50 lbs
- Strong eye/hand coordination.
