Veolia Environnement (Paris Euronext: VIE) achieved consolidated sales of 28.508 billion euros in 2021.Job DescriptionThe maintenance clearer position is to ensure Material Recycling Facility equipment is clean and ready for operation for the following operating day. The key duties include cleaning debris off scrapers, idlers, rollers, motors, conveyors, bellypans, exhaust fans, diverters, etc. The employee must also have some mechanical aptitude in order to determine if a piece of equipment requires repair.This position operates within a COR certified plant environment and is required to comply with all regulatory requirements including the Client's operating approval with Alberta Environment.Key Responsibilities:The duties of the Mechanical cleaner are as follows, but not limited to: * Understands and promotes the Company's, the Division's, the Plant's, and the Department's mission statement, values, and strategic goals.
  • Proactively promotes through example a safe work ethic, attitude, and workplace. Complies with all safety policies, standards, and procedures to achieve a safe work environment and safety for all staff and visitors as well as the Company's, Client's and Regulatory Agencies safe work objectives and requirements.
  • Maintains effective working relationships and communications with peers, management, and other Company departments and staff. Effectively resolves any conflicts in a timely and respectful manner to achieve positive and healthy working relationships and workplace environment.
  • Operates company owned, leased, or rented vehicles and/or equipment . Required to perform, rotate through, or temporarily relieve in Safety Sensitive positions.
  • Remove or assist in removing equipment guards, perform lock outs and prepare equipment for maintenance technicians to work on.
  • Clean plant machinery, equipment including conveyors and all other equipment throughout the facility.
  • Be able to work some O/T as required to maintain facility production
  • Input SAPto create new WOs whether Mechanical or electrical.
  • Promotes a quality-first work ethic and attitude to provide a product that is manufactured of the highest standard achievable.

QualificationsKnowledge, Skills and Talents:
  • Minimum of 1 years experience.
  • Experience in an industrial facility.
  • Previous progressive experience within an industrial process plant environment is a definite asset.
  • Strong customer service attitude and commitment to providing exceptional customer service and quality results.
  • Attentiveness to details and ability to manage a diverse workload within a fast-paced.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team as well as independently with minimal supervision.
  • Proven organizational and creative-problem solving skills.
  • Basic level computer skills to operate MS Office Suite (especially Outlook, Excel, and Word).
  • Special Training/Certificates Required: Confined space and rescue training, Respectful Workplace Training
Working Conditions:

  • Valid driver's license clean record.
  • Forklift, elevated platform preferred (will be trained)
  • Disagreeable conditions normally associated with job (e.g. physical hazards, rotating shifts, shop conditions, excessive travel as an integral part of the duties performed, etc.) It is assumed that all reasonable and legal Occupational Health & Safety practices are in place and are adhered to. In addition, PPE is to be worn as per company standards and procedures.
  • High volume workload requiring both sound technical knowledge and ability to provide exceptional customer service.
  • Continuous trips into the production plant and laboratory; may be exposed to limited noise, fumes, odours, and chemicals.
Hours of Work:Permanent position: General hours of work for the Maintenance Cleaner will be 4 on 4 off rotating 12 hour night shifts, 6 pm to 6 am with a 30-minute lunch break.
