Our client is one of North America's leading Scientific Test and Measurement organizations, with a global presence and a strong focus on delivering advanced software solutions embedded within their laboratory equipment and instrumentation. Due to continued growth in their technology landscape, they are seeking a Software Verification Specialist to play a key role within their Product Development team. In this role, you will apply your scientific background and software verification expertise to ensure high-quality product delivery across a range of complex, software-driven solutions used in regulated laboratory environments. Working within an agile team of designers and developers, you will be responsible for planning and executing verification activities, ensuring that software products meet defined requirements and exit criteria, and that development practices are adhered to throughout the lifecycle.ABOUT THE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Verify that software products fully meet defined functional and technical requirements
- Assess and validate product robustness through structured and exploratory testing
- Create, maintain, and execute comprehensive product test suites
- Perform exploratory testing to identify edge cases and potential defects
- Expand and refine high-level requirements into testable verification criteria
- Develop and maintain accurate verification traceability
- Track verification progress, project issues, risks, and requirements
- Clearly document and communicate defects to support timely resolution by development teams
- Participate in design and development discussions to improve verification effectiveness
- Plan, prepare, and execute validation protocols supporting customer workflows in regulated laboratory environments
- Validate new algorithms and scientific processing logic
- Utilize provided tools, frameworks, and agile methodologies to support development teams
- Manage verification environments, tools, and frameworks
- B.Sc., M.Sc., or PhD in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or a related scientific discipline, or equivalent practical experience
- 3 to 5 years of experience in software verification, quality assurance, or related roles
- Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Experience with quantitative analysis or quantitative data processing
- Experience with method development and validation
- Hands-on experience with LC-MS/MS is considered a strong asset
- Knowledge of scripting or test automation is an asset
- Understanding of validation requirements within regulated environments is preferred
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
- Ability to quickly learn new hardware and software systems
- Ability to design test cases based on realistic customer workflows
Work model: Hybrid
Duration: 6-month contractPAY DISCLOSURE:The expected pay range for this role is as follows (CAD):Intermediate Level: 3-5 years of experience - $35-42/hourCompensation is commensurate with these standards; exceptions may apply based on experience, skills, and market conditions.AI DISCLOSURE:
