The purpose of this position is to provide support to the maintenance and production departments as it relates to technical controls, equipment investigation and diagnostics and machine/ equipment repairs. This position will provide direction to the members of the maintenance team and coordinate with the production manager to ensure timely repairs and assist in ensuring the company's production targets and business objectives are met.
KEY RESULT AREAS:
1. Ensure successful scheduled inspections of legislated and regulated processes and equipment
2. Keep within budgeted costs for personnel, maintenance expenditures, and capital projects 3. Data Analysis/Technical support 4. Preventative Maintenance, Diagnostics/Machine and Equipment Repairs 5. Team leadership 6. Provide Coach & Connects to maintenance team on a quarterly basis and document RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Provide technical controls support during production breakdowns and improvement projects.
2. Assists in equipment malfunction investigations to improve equipment reliability by identifying root cause, determining corrective and preventative actions, and following up on deviations and implemented solutions.
3. Support maintenance personnel in diagnosing and repairing industrial machinery.
4. Collaborate with Engineering and production teams to troubleshoot issues involving variable frequency drives and servo drives, automated and robotic equipment
5. Assists with setup and calibration for process and control instrumentation such as: Flow meters, Temperature and Pressure transducers.
6. Construction, Installation, Repair and Maintenance of industrial machinery and equipment, including robotics systems.
7. Execute and oversee preventative maintenance program
8. Record and document all maintenance servicing activities.
9. Utilize the Computerized Maintenance Management System for work orders and maintenance tracking.
10. Scheduling as well as time and attendance tracking for maintenance personnel
11. Conduct quarterly performance reviews with individual employees on the maintenance team
12. Recruit maintenance personnel and oversee their orientations and training. 13. Provide support to Millwright Apprentices (coordination with the MLTSD and Skilled Trades Ontario)
14. Provide project management support for capital projects on site.
15. Follow and enforce safe work practices and safe operation of vehicles, power tools and equipment.
16. Ensure compliance with safety regulations including Arc Flash protection and use of Personal Protective Equipment.
17. Ensure provincial employment and safety standards are followed as legislated.
18. Develop and implement schedules for safety inspections and preventive maintenance programs.
19. Plan and manage the facility's maintenance budget.
20. Maintain adherence to company policies, procedures, and standard operating practices
21. Administer purchasing and contracts for maintenance supplies and external services.
22. Perform other duties as assigned to support plant operations and maintain objectives.
Qualifications:
433A Millwright License is an asset
- Minimum 5 years Maintenance supervision experience
- Determine adequacy of personnel in department, and equipment and technologies used for operations
- Have a strong working knowledge of Lockout Tagout Procedures
- Knowledge of PLCs, HMIs, programming in ladder logic, and structured text.
- Mechanically and electrically minded with the ability to understand and troubleshoot issues.
- Knowledge of VFDs, servos, electrical motors, hydraulics, and pneumatics.
- Knowledge of Industrial Instrumentation
- Strong work ethic with the ability to work in a team environment.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills
- Must have excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills with great attention to detail.
- Must have excellent time management skills
