As a Data Scientist, you will lead the end-to-end development of customer-centric data products designed to help internal teams better understand and enhance the customer journey. You will partner closely with Go-To-Market teams (Sales, Marketing, and Customer Success) and Product stakeholders to translate business questions into clear, actionable analytical requirements.In this role, you will analyze product usage and customer feedback data, transforming insights into impactful dashboards, reports, and strategic recommendations that drive informed decision-making across Sales, Marketing, Customer Success, Finance, and Product. You will also champion data quality, integrity, and performance while contributing to the long-term customer analytics strategy and lifecycle insights.This position reports to the VP, Finance and Operations and works cross-functionally with Go-To-Market and R& D teams.Must-Haves:
  • Location: Must be based in Ottawa. We are not considering candidates outside the Ottawa region at this time.
  • Technical Expertise: Strong proficiency in SQL and Python, with hands-on experience building and maintaining ETL/data ingestion pipelines.
  • Cloud Data Platforms: Practical experience working with modern cloud data warehouses such as Snowflake, BigQuery, or Redshift.
  • Data Modeling & Storytelling: Demonstrated ability to transform raw datasets into well-structured schemas and translate insights into clear, compelling business narratives.
  • Visualization & Reporting: Experience building executive-ready dashboards in Tableau to support data-driven decision-making.
  • Data Orchestration & Transformation: Familiarity with tools such as Airflow, Dagster, and dbt.
  • Systems Integration: Proven ability to integrate multiple systems and pipelines to create reliable, end-to-end data flows and a unified source of truth.
  • Customer Analytics (SaaS): Strong understanding of the SaaS customer journey, including lifecycle analytics and churn analysis. Experience with tools such as ChurnZero is preferred.
  • Cross-Functional Partnership: Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage stakeholders and serve as the primary data partner for cross-functional teams.
  • Experience: 4+ years of relevant industry experience, ideally within a high-growth startup or fast-paced team environment.
  • Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree from a Tier 1 North American university.
