Location: Mississauga, ONPosition OverviewAt Food World Supermarket, our 176,000 sq feet store aims to provide quality products to our customers while maintaining efficient receiving and inventory management processes. We are committed to ensuring that all incoming shipments are handled accurately, stored properly, and coordinated seamlessly with internal teams.We are seeking an experienced and motivated Receiving Supervisor to oversee all receiving operations for our store. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, leadership experience, and a proven track record in warehouse or supermarket receiving operations.The Receiving Supervisor will act as the bridge between suppliers, delivery teams, and internal departments, ensuring that products arrive on time, meet quality standards, and are efficiently distributed within the store.Key ResponsibilitiesReceiving & Inspection:Supervise the unloading, verification, and inspection of all incoming shipmentsEnsure that products meet quality and safety standards and address any damaged or incorrect deliveriesInventory & Stock Management:Monitor stock levels and coordinate with warehouse or store teams to ensure proper storage and inventory flowMaintain accurate records of received products in POS or inventory management systemsVendor & Delivery Coordination:Work closely with suppliers and delivery personnel to schedule shipments and resolve issuesCommunicate effectively with internal teams to prioritize and manage product distributionTeam Leadership:Supervise, train, and schedule receiving staffEnsure adherence to safety protocols, cleanliness, and operational efficiencyAdministrative Tasks:Manage and verify purchase orders (POs) and receiving documentationAssist in reporting discrepancies or inventory issues to managementRequired Skills and QualificationsOrganizational & Analytical Skills: Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple shipments, and maintain accurate records.Leadership Skills: Experience supervising teams in warehouse or retail environments.Industry Knowledge: Understanding of grocery or supermarket operations, food safety standards, and perishable product handling.Technical Proficiency: Experience with inventory management systems, POS software, and Microsoft Excel.Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; post-secondary education in logistics, supply chain, or related fields preferred.Physical Requirements: Ability to lift heavy items and work in fast-paced environments.What We OfferCompetitive hourly wageSupportive and collaborative team environmentOpportunities to work with a wide variety of productsCareer growth and professional development opportunities
