We are a growing, agile, and dynamic team where everything you do has a great impact.About the RoleWe are seeking a highly experienced Functional Lead to build and lead our NetSuite Functional Center of Excellence (CoE).This is a leadership role responsible for the institutionalization of quality and the codification of our intellectual property (IP). This role is measured purely on outcomes: creating a scalable, self-sufficient functional delivery engine that consistently delivers effective and high-quality results for our clients and the firm. This is an architectural role, and you will define and enforce the 'how' for all functional delivery, ensuring that we follow effective Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for delivery of our NetSuite consulting services.You will also play a key role in pre-sales, solution design, and continuous improvement, ensuring we consistently exceed expectations in both quality and speed of delivery.Key Responsibilities
Functional Leadership & Quality Ownership
  • Own the ultimate quality and financial profitability of all functional deliverables across client engagements.
  • Codify and enforce NetDynamic's internal standards, methodologies, and best practices across the functional resources within the professional services team.
  • Act as the final functional design authority, particularly for complex, high-margin, or fixed-fee engagements.
  • Shield the Managing Partner and other leaders from involvement in functional delivery by establishing a self-correcting quality control process.
  • Develop and coach senior functional consultants, ensuring the right balance between execution (doing the work) and management (enabling others to execute well).
Hands-On Architecture & Solution Design
  • Lead and architect the solution design for all complex implementations, ensuring all designs are scalable and align with the client’s strategic business outcomes (Process Before Technology).
  • Ensure all proposed solutions and estimates require a rigorous functional approval workflow before presentation to clients.
  • Translate client business needs into clear, standardized NetSuite configuration blueprints for the execution team.
Delivery Governance & Scaling Excellence
  • Establish metrics and monitoring to ensure project gross margins, delivery timelines, and budget adherence are consistently met or exceeded.
  • Proactively monitor delivery to ensure quality, speed to value, consistency, and to identify and resolve systemic delivery bottlenecks, particularly those that slow time-to-value or prevent scaling past billable hours/week targets.
  • Partner with the Resource Manager to ensure team allocation is aligned with CoE standards and capability development.
Pre-Sales & Strategic Growth
  • Define and scope high-value service offerings (e.g., CFO Strategic Scorecard, AI Readiness Audit, Revenue Leakage monitoring) to drive high value outcome-based engagements.
  • Lead discovery sessions and act as the senior functional advisor during pre-sales, translating our expertise into compelling value propositions.
  • Standardize the implementation process, managed services delivery, and effort estimation processes to embed appropriate markups and quality control time, protecting project profitability.
Continuous Improvement & Innovation
  • Drive the adoption of tools and automation (including AI, NetSuite native, and other) to achieve measurable reductions in time spent on consultant tasks, documentation and reporting while maintaining quality and value.
  • Systematically incorporate client feedback and lessons learned into the CoE methodology, ensuring NetDynamic is continuously improving functional delivery and service offerings.
  • Introduce new tools and approaches to enhance service quality and outcomes
Qualifications
  • 7+ years of NetSuite Functional Consulting experience
  • Proven experience leading complex implementations and teams
  • Deep expertise in NetSuite and business processes
  • Strong client-facing and solution design capabilities
  • Experience in pre-sales and consulting environments
  • High level of problem-solving ability and intellectual rigor
What Success Looks LikeThe successful Functional Lead, within the first 12 months, will have achieved the following:Resilient Delivery: The Functional COE's methodology is the sole source of truth for all projects, measurably reducing rework and scope creep on all functional deliverables by 10%.Institutionalized Quality: A mandatory, pre-client Quality Assurance (QA) and approval workflow is fully operational and demonstrably prevents errors from reaching clients, making the firm look like a professional services company with institutional muscle. Consistently demonstrating strong alignment between client needs and NetDynamic execution.Scalable Architecture: The functional delivery model scales with volume, directly supporting the organizational goal of achieving and sustaining our total billable hour targets.Vision Encoded: This role functions well with the entire professional services team, and supports centralized quality control and standardized IP, confirming clear ownership of outcomes.Outcome-Driven Innovation: AI and automation adoption within the CoE results in a documented 15% reduction in non-billable time spent on tasks, documentation, freeing up consultant capacity for higher-value, billable work.This position is open to candidates based in the U.S. or Canada. While our office is located in Toronto, we offer 100% remote work for those not based nearby.
