Transdev Canada is actively seeking a motivated IT Systems Specialist/Junior Administrator to join our team on the Hazel McCallion light rail project. You will be responsible for providing day-to-day technical support while assisting with the maintenance, configuration, and monitoring of IT systems and infrastructure. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys troubleshooting technical issues, supporting users, travel to different sites, and progressively taking on system administration responsibilities to support this 24 hour per day, 7 day per week, 365 day per year operation.Your role
  • Provide Level 1 and Level 2 technical support to internal users (hardware, software, and network issues)
  • Install, configure, and maintain workstations, laptops, and peripheral devices
  • Assist with user account management (Active Directory, Microsoft 365, permissions, onboarding/offboarding)
  • Support and maintain Windows environments and basic network infrastructure
  • Monitor system performance and assist with server maintenance and updates
  • Document issues, solutions, and procedures in the IT knowledge base
  • Escalate complex technical issues when required
  • Participate in IT projects, deployments, and system improvements
  • Ensure compliance with company IT security policies and best practices
  • Assist with vulnerability management and incident escalation
  • Support security awareness initiatives and end-user risk mitigation
  • Support and administer security tools and EDR systems

Your profile
  • Diploma or degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field
  • Strong communication skills with a customer service mindset
  • Organized and detail-oriented
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Interest in growing into a System Administrator role
  • Experience supporting Windows 11 environments
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple requests
Work Experience Qualifications
  • Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
  • 3-5 years of experience in IT support or a similar role
  • You have solid knowledge of:
  • Windows Server environments and AWS
  • Active Directory
  • Microsoft 365 / Exchange
  • Networking fundamentals (DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP)
  • Basic PowerShell scripting
  • Experience with cybersecurity is an asset
  • Knowledge of endpoint management tools (Crowdstrike, Knox, Connectwise) is an asset
  • Experience with backup and monitoring tools is an asset
  • IT certifications (CompTIA A+, Network+, Microsoft, etc.) are assets
