- Oversee daily transit operations including vehicle dispatch, in-service monitoring, and operational coordination.
- Ensure vehicles are dispatched on schedule and operators have all the required documentation to complete their routes.
- Verify vehicles are in proper working condition and that pre-trip and post-trip Driver Vehicle Inspection (DVI) reports are completed.
- Coordinate dispatching, monitoring, and turn-in activities involved in daily transit operations.
- Act as backup support for dispatch or scheduling when required.
- Provide direct supervision to Transit Supervisors and indirect supervision to Conventional and Custom Operators.
- Assist with recruitment, interviewing, hiring, onboarding, and training of operations staff.
- Provide leadership, coaching, and performance management to operations employees.
- Manage employee attendance tracking and review vacation requests.
- Recommend disciplinary actions where necessary and ensure fair and consistent application of company policies.
- Develop succession planning for operational staff.
- Assist with routing and scheduling activities.
- Analyze trip patterns and operational requirements to develop appropriate run structures.
- Determine staffing and manpower requirements for operators.
- Schedule casual service staff as required.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip operational audits and maintain records.
- Promote and maintain a Safety-First culture by identifying, reporting, and correcting safety concerns.
- Participate in safety meetings and transit security meetings.
- Monitor and evaluate operational performance including:
- Investigate customer complaints and operational incidents.
- Prepare and submit required operational reports for the company and BC Transit.
- Attend weekly management meetings and other meetings as required.
- Assist with operational readiness and service reliability.
- Coordinate uniform orders for Transit Supervisors and Operators.
- Manage uniform inventory and ensure presentation standards are met according to contractual requirements.
- Issue rain gear and boot vouchers for service and shop staff.
- Provide operational training for Transit Supervisors within the Central Fraser Valley.
- Support training initiatives for Transit Supervisors across Transdev BC locations.
- Maintain personal certifications and ensure compliance with all company training requirements.
- Support emergency response coordination when required.
- Assume responsibilities of the Assistant General Manager when required.
- Support strategic planning and operational decision-making for the location.
- A competitive yearly salary between $80,000 to $85,000.

- 3–5+ years of operations management or supervisory experience, preferably in: public transit or transportation services
- Experience managing unionized environments and working with Collective Bargaining Agreements is an asset.
- Post-secondary education in one of the following fields is preferred:
- Transportation Management
- Business Administration
- Operations Management
- An equivalent combination of education and relevant experience may be considered.
- Experience in scheduling, dispatching, or transportation operations is strongly preferred.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and compliance in the transportation sector.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in transportation management software and systems.
- Ability to work flexible hours and adapt to changing operational needs.
- Valid driver's license.
- This is a full time position based in Abbotsford
- The schedule for this role is Monday-Friday 8am-4pm, with occasional additional hours or weekends required based on operational demands.
