- A bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, business administration, or other relevant discipline is required.
- A minimum of 10 years of experience is required for those with a master’s degree, of 15 years of experience for those with a bachelor’s degree. Experience will be considered in lieu of education.
- Extensive Experience (10+ years) in construction management, specifically in leading large-scale commercial projects exceeding $500 million.
- Deep understanding of construction laws, codes, and regulations.
- Proven track record of successful project delivery delivering projects on time and within budget.
- The ability to obtain and maintain a Canadian security clearance is required.
- Certification by the Project Management Institute in project management or program management is preferred.
- Must live in or be willing to relocate to near the Chalk River Site. No remote work is permitted.
- Reports to the vice president of construction, a key staff manager for NLPC.
- Strategic Leadership: Lead, mentor, and guide project teams across various large-scale construction initiatives, ensuring alignment with strategic company goals.
- Project Management: Oversee the entire project lifecycle, from feasibility analysis, budgeting, and scheduling to execution and completion while adhering to FFP contracts.
- Risk Management: Identify, assess, and develop mitigation strategies to manage project risks, ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Maintain strong communications with stakeholders, including clients, contractors, suppliers, and government entities, ensuring transparency and alignment.
- Budget Control: Manage large capital budgets, ensuring cost-effective procurement, allocation, and utilization of resources while optimizing project profitability.
- Reporting and Documentation: prepare comprehensive reports detailing project milestones, financial performance, and compliance with contractual obligations.
- Manages subcontractors and their work to ensure they meet CNL requirements and needs.
- Collaborates with project managers and engineers to ensure project objectives are achieved within scope, schedule, and budget constraints.
- Serves as a liaison with clients and other stakeholders to manage expectations and ensure alignment with project goals.
- Ensures compliance with relevant regulations, standards, and procedures, including nuclear safety and security requirements.
- Develops and maintain relationships with the leadership for effective delivery of Project scope. Engage to support and to use effective influence/communication to lift barriers to successful completion scope.
- Effectively communicates with internal and assigned external customers and partners to identify and prioritize needs.
- Establishes, leads and coordinates cross-functional team to drive projects to ensure proper integration and alignment with broader company goals. Participate in and leads development of people, organization, core processes, tools and necessary interfaces to accomplish activities/work scope.
