Lead Facilitator - Black Entrepreneurship Knowledge Hub (BEKH)

- Assist in the transcription and coding of focus group data to extract key themes and insights.
- Assist in facilitating a “what we heard” virtual symposium.
- Assist in developing and execute recruitment strategies, leveraging various channels to reach potential participants for workshop activities across all hubs.
- Assist in leading persona-based workshops and guiding participants through activities.
- Maintain, and regularly update, lists of representatives from community agencies who are participating in stakeholder engagement processes and arrange their participation in virtual meetings.
- Handle virtual meeting management, including setting agendas, note taking, task tracking, etc.
- Develop content for a website, showcasing the work of this project and others.
- Comply with the ethical guidelines of the University of Alberta related to the project by ensuring informed consent and research risks are communicated to study participants.
- Must be available to attend an in-person training workshop at the University of Alberta from January 2nd to January 5th, 2024.
- Must be able to facilitate in person workshops for the Hub location that they are applying to be stationed at.
- Sound knowledge and experience in Project Management, workshop facilitation, data management, and stakeholder engagement.
- An educational background with an emphasis on Political Science, Economics, Public Policy, and Equity, Diversity, and Inclusivity initiatives.
- Strong political and business acumen are an asset.
- Extensive experience in working with GSuite (Docs, Slides, Sheets, Forms) and MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint) and use of Internet research tools are required.
- Relevant work experience with public or non-profit organizations is desirable.
- Solid understanding of racial capitalism and racialization processes in Canada will also be considered.
- Written and spoken fluency in English is essential. Fluency in French is required for the Quebec Hub only.
- In alignment with the Training and Mentoring objectives of this initiative, the successful candidates will ideally be graduate students.
- Written and spoken fluency in French is considered an asset.
