
Water Resources Engineer

- Development of stormwater, drainage, and Low Impact Development plans, catchment area analysis, hydrological/hydraulic models, and preparation of engineering designs and drawings from preliminary concepts, specifications, bid documents, engineering directives, and other data, according to client specifications for the projects.
- Prepare calculations, reports, and prepare contract packages including design drawings, specifications, and cost estimates for the water resources infrastructure.
- Carry out technical studies, Environmental Assessments, and prepare necessary documentation to support permits and approvals from agencies.
- Coordinate with project teams consisting of engineers, engineering interns and CAD technicians in the planning, execution, and management of projects related to water resources.
- Support project managers with proposal writing, business development, and client-based support.
- Communication and stakeholder management including establishing and maintaining strong relationship with clients and addressing their needs and concerns.
- Coordinate with other disciplines, design leads and/or construction personnel.

- Bachelor’s Degree in Water Resources or Civil Engineering from a recognized institution.
- Licensed Ontario Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) or eligible within 12 months.
- Minimum 5 years of demonstrated experience in Water Resources Engineering including hydrological & hydraulic analysis and modeling, technical studies and reports, preliminary and detailed design, drawings, cost estimate, specifications, and contract documents for the drainage, stormwater management, LID systems, and erosion & sediment controls.
- Prior experience of working on Transit Rail projects would be an asset.
- Experience with water resources modeling programs such as HEC-RAS, PC-SWMM, EPA SWMM, InfoWorks, VISUAL OTTHYMO, etc.
- Familiarity with water resources policies, standards and practices in Ontario and familiarity with municipal and provincial clients and approving agencies.
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD, MicroStation, MS Project would be an asset.
