Description :The Product Application Specialist will take full ownership of the customer wear product lifecycle across key mining sites. This role focuses on HMS/ERS work tools, their GET, and HMS undercarriage systems. Acting as a technical and commercial partner to both customers and Toromont Cat internal teams, the Specialist ensures optimal product selection, performance tracking, timely inspections, accurate forecasting, and continuous improvement of wear related solutions. The position requires a strong field presence, a data driven approach to wear forecasting, and strong collaboration with PSSRs, weld shops, Toromont divisions, and Caterpillar teams.Pay Type - Full Time, PermanentCompensation: $85,265.00 to $106,580.00 CADThe listed base salary is just one component of our total rewards package, and performance-based or discretionary bonuses may be available.** This role may be based in multiple locations.As a Product Application Specialist, YOU will experience:

In a typical day, YOU will:
  • Serve as the primary wear-product support resource for assigned mining operations.
  • Establish a consistent on-site presence to maintain visibility into wear trends, product performance, and customer needs.
  • Build strong working relationships with customer operations, maintenance, and planning teams.
  • Manage the complete wear-product workflow from field assessment → inspection → quotation → discounting (as applicable) → product delivery → weld shop coordination → post-installation follow-up.
  • Address product concerns, performance issues, and application mismatches promptly and professionally.
  • Maintain accountability for ensuring the right product is installed at the right time for each machine application.
  • Work with SME to provide expert guidance on work tools, GET, and HMS undercarriage components.
  • Recommend product types and configurations based on application, wear patterns, and cost-per-ton performance outcomes.
  • Drive customer adoption and optimization of Caterpillar and Toromont wear products.
  • Achieve and maintain X% of buckets configured in CWMS for the assigned customer fleet (target to be finalized).
  • Ensure accuracy and completeness of bucket configuration data to support forecasting and inventory planning.
  • Conduct structured inspections based on site-specific wear cycles, GET life, and production conditions (minimum quarterly review).
  • Document, track, and analyze wear rates, lifecycle trends, and cost performance outcomes.
  • Provide recommendations to operations teams to reduce cost-per-hour or cost-per-ton.
  • Work closely with all site PSSRs to ensure consistent messaging, aligned customer strategies, and clear division of responsibilities.
  • Coordinate with Toromont weld shops, parts teams, and service departments to ensure customer needs are met with minimal downtime.
  • Engage Caterpillar wear-product and undercarriage specialists to drive product improvements and hit performance targets.
  • Grow GET POPS at targeted sites
  • Identify opportunities to convert customers to premium wear solutions, bundled configurations, or performance-based offerings.
  • Support quotation development and participate in customer pricing or product-selection discussions when required.
  • Provide accurate short- and long-term forecasting of GET, wear parts, and undercarriage components based on inspection results and site production rates.
  • Ensure Toromont parts departments receive timely and precise wear-rate data to maintain appropriate stocking levels for current and new products.
  • Support inventory-planning teams to reduce emergency orders and improve supply-chain predictability.
Must-haves for this role:
  • Post-secondary technical education or related technician experience.
  • Strong mechanical understanding of mining work tools, wear products, and undercarriage systems.
  • Ability to perform field inspections and interpret wear trends and product performance data.
  • A valid driver’s license and comfort working at remote mine sites.
  • Strong communication and customer-facing skills.
  • Experience with GET, buckets, shovels, or undercarriage systems is considered a major asset.
