We believe that a person is happiest when they have the opportunity to use their strengths daily and have fun doing it!Job DescriptionEurofins PSS is searching for a Business Development Manager to manage the strategic sales process including identifying client needs, defining and presenting how PSS can address them, as well as guiding the implementation process for clients across Canada. This is a unique opportunity to help shape and grow the Canadian organization; the expectation is that additional resources will be added upon success of this individual. Proficiency in both French and English is crucial for success in this role, alongside a strong background in the bio/pharmaceutical, medical device, tobacco, or other highly scientific industries, and established leadership contacts within the sector.Responsibilities of the Business Development Manager include, but are not limited to:
  • Develop new business consistent with our market focus and operational capabilities within assigned territory/accounts to achieve/exceed annual revenue targets
  • Identify and research new sales targets, qualify leads
  • Manage prospect relationships, uncover needs, and secure opportunities to engage in virtual, telephone, and in person sales calls to promote the company
  • Manage the sales process, including the development of quotes and sales proposals as well as RFP responses in cooperation with Operations
  • Work effectively across the organization to advance and successfully implement opportunities (Operations, Recruiting, Legal, Senior Management)
  • Assist in recruiting activities for new site implementation
  • Document and track activity, including complete internal tracking tools within deadlines
  • Monitor competitor activity
  • Identify market trends
  • Consistently represent the organization and its vision internally and externally to ensure prospective clients have a WOW experience
  • Perform other duties as assigned
QualificationsThe ideal candidate will demonstrate:
  • Fluency in both English and French
  • Strong experience in new client acquisition, including prospecting/hunting skills
  • Ability to promote and sell professional services, preferably in a business-to-business environment
  • Ability to develop action plans and achieve sales goals
  • Commitment to providing exceptional customer service
  • Listening, negotiation, and influence skills
  • Effective presentation, written and verbal communication, and customer engagement skills
  • Contract development and negotiation expertise
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Experience working in and through matrix environments
  • Knowledge of the bio/pharmaceutical, medical device, tobacco, and/or other highly scientific industries, with established leadership contacts
  • Technical understanding of the scientific disciplines required for drug development
  • Independence and ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Understand, follow, and interpret company policy
Basic Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in business, marketing or sciences
  • Five years of prior sales/business development experience, preferably in the staffing, recruiting, or other professional services sector, and/or laboratory services
  • Willingness to travel up to 50% of the time
