A leading construction company is seeking a seasoned Quality Control Advisor to support major projects across the Greater Toronto Area. This role offers the opportunity to shape quality from planning through handover while working on high-profile projects.The RoleAs the Quality Control Advisor, you will lead the development and implementation of project quality systems, Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs), and construction quality procedures. You will partner closely with project leadership, field teams, and third parties to ensure compliance with design, specifications, ISO 9001 requirements, and regulatory standards, while driving continuous improvement and readiness for handover.Key Responsibilities
  • Establish and organize the construction QC function in line with project ITPs, including defining quality checkpoints and staffing requirements.
  • Lead and oversee inspections, testing, and verification activities to ensure compliance with design criteria, specifications, and applicable codes and standards.
  • Manage non-conformance and deficiency processes, including investigation, corrective actions, verification of closure, and record retention.
  • Plan, develop, and maintain ITPs and related quality procedures for earthworks, concrete, structures, utilities, and other scopes.
  • Coordinate and oversee third‑party and project laboratories, ensuring test plans, turnaround times, and reporting support construction schedules and quality requirements.
  • Lead and support internal, client, and external audits, including preparation, field execution, responses, and follow‑up on findings.
  • Mentor and coach QC personnel and site teams to embed a strong quality culture and consistent application of quality processes.
Qualifications
  • 8+ years of progressive QA/QC experience in the construction industry.
  • Post‑secondary education in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
  • Formal training and demonstrated experience with ISO 9001 quality management systems; Lead Auditor or similar certification considered an asset.
  • Effective leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence site teams and work collaboratively with clients and partners.
  • High attention to detail, strong documentation and organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced project environment.
