This position will play a crucial role in designing and optimizing the civil and structural elements of hydroelectric projects (development, rehabilitation), dam and hydraulic structures engineering, and dam safety. We work in collaboration with public and private sector clients on innovative projects that allow our team members to prove their expertise and to train a new generation of passionate people.This position will be located in any of our Canadian offices within Ontario or Atlantic provinces.Your Impact
- Deliver structural engineering design for hydroelectric facilities, spillways, intake structures, dam appurtenances, penstocks, gates, and powerhouse components.
- Conduct structural assessment, analysis, and rehabilitation studies for existing dams and hydropower infrastructure.
- Support dam safety reviews, risk assessments, and regulatory compliance evaluations in alignment with CDA and provincial standards.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (geotechnical, hydrotechnical, environmental, electrical, mechanical) throughout planning, design, and construction phases.
- Prepare calculations, design reports, technical memos, CAD markups, and engineering design packages.
- Contribute to project delivery through construction support, site inspections, and review of contractor submittals.
- Apply innovative thinking to improve resilience, sustainability, and long-term asset performance of critical water and energy infrastructure.
- Build trusted relationships with clients, regulators, and partners while championing excellence in engineering delivery.
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent program.
- 10+ years' experience in structural engineering.
- Should have experience with concrete and steel structure design - ie. piles, heavy foundations, etc.
- Experience in hydropower and dams an asset.
- Multi-disciplinary versatility, leadership skills, dynamic, team-spirited, quality-oriented, and technical excellence are essential.
- Strong communication skills.
- Registered Professional Engineer (P.Eng) in your province of practice.
