- Knowledge of accounting policies, procedures, and processes including financial and regulatory reports
- Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and specific public sector accounting standards
- Knowledge on International accounting standards
- Knowledge of relevant CRA legislation
- Knowledge of controller's office as well as the broader university offices, academic units, departments, and divisions
- Knowledge of office productivity software and databases, internet browsers and search engines, discipline-specific and enterprise software, and technology devices
- Completion of bachelor's degree in commerce or Accounting
- CPA designation preferred
- Five (5) years experience working in a similar role, within a university or public sector setting.
- Two (2) years of management or supervisory experience.
- One (1) year experience working with budget, project accounting and analysis, and financial management.
