We are currently seeking and have an immediate opening for a qualified and motivated individual to fill the position of Commercial Estimator – Plumbing & HVAC. This role can be based on-site or hybrid (based on business needs) & physical location is flexible to any of the below metropolitans (or greater areas of):
  • Saint John, New Brunswick
  • Moncton, New Brunswick
  • Halifax/Dartmouth, Nova Scotia
Responsibilities:
  • Respond to customer inquiries via phone, email, or in-person with professionalism and technical expertise.
  • Review commercial blueprints, drawings, and plans from customers to create accurate material and product lists.
  • Prepare detailed commercial quotes, proposals, and bids using drawing take-offs and technical specifications.
  • In collaboration with the Supply Chain team, source products and suppliers, gather pricing, and provide recommendations
  • Support outside sales by providing timely, accurate estimates and technical expertise to help win projects.
  • Coordinate with suppliers and vendors to ensure competitive pricing and availability.
  • Analyze risks and review estimates with management to ensure accuracy and profitability.
  • Collaborate with project teams to ensure seamless communication, coordination, and execution
  • Adhere to company policies and procedures
  • Stay current on product lines, technical updates, and industry trends.
  • Perform other duties as required
QUALIFICATIONS
  • 5+ years experience in commercial estimating in a distribution/wholesale environment or working directly for a sub-contractor is required
  • Ability to read and interpret shop drawings provided to you by contractors is required.
  • Knowledge of plumbing, mechanical and HVAC materials and systems used in Multi Family, and commercial construction is a must
  • Well-versed in market dynamics and the contractor base throughout Atlantic Canada is considered a significant asset
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, listening, negotiation, and phone skill
  • Collaborative and able to develop/maintain relationships with ease inside & outside the organization
  • The ability to effectively read technical documentations, then capture and communicate findings & specifications
  • Excellent proficiency in Microsoft Office and computer software
  • Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail
  • Energetic, self-motivated, possessing a good work ethic
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced environment; able to multitask and adapt to changing priorities
