Visit us today and check out to see why more people from across the globe are moving here.About the OpportunityThe Health Care Social Worker reports to the Program Manager and as a member of a multi-disciplinary team, provides a diverse range of interventions to clients and their families enabling them to achieve their optimal level of functioning and health. These interventions include psychosocial assessments, adjustment therapy, supportive therapy, crisis counseling, resource counseling, discharge planning and case management. The Health Care Social Worker is actively involved in advocacy, education, program planning, consultation and collaboration on behalf of individuals/groups within the institution and community. The role is multifaceted and dynamic requiring the Health Care Social Worker to work autonomously as well as collaboratively.About YouWe would love to hear from you if you have the following:
- Master's Degree in Social Work from a recognized university
- Registered or eligible for registration with the NSCSW
- Two (2) years of clinical experience as a clinical Social Worker preferred
- Strong counselling and communication skills
- Capacity to achieve a high degree of autonomous practice
- Ability to work within a multidisciplinary team context
- Knowledge of abortion care and options counselling an asset
- Knowledge of issues related to family violence, sexual abuse, addictions, grief and loss, end of life, disability, crisis intervention, caregiving and continuum of care and intervention skills that come from knowledge of theoretical frameworks/approaches to practice
- Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred
- Permanent, Full-Time; 75 hours bi-weekly
