This role is a developmental role to become an HR Business Partner.Job Duties
  • Lead projects and provides data analytics services.
  • Accountable for project plans, action items, directing and influencing HRBPs to complete milestones and tasks.
  • Captures, connects, and analyse HR data and provide executive summaries related to the analysis.
  • Serves as HR point of contact for employee matters ranging from general inquiries to investigations.
  • Responds to HR issues and opportunities in designated business unit or region and administers HR policies and programs as appropriate with the support of Lead HRBP and team of HRBPs.
  • Manages communications and execution of annual processes as well as specific business processes.
  • Become expert power user in HR systems, reporting, and data to provide support to HRBPs and Lead HRBPs.
  • Coordination of HR related events such as benefits, wellness, employee experience, etc.
  • Facilitates employee orientation and on-boarding.
  • New Hire Process: Perform Pre-Hire activities including but not limited to: Pre-employment verifications via third party pre-employment screening resource; Prepares new hire paperwork benefits packets and various policy forms; Maintains individual employee files.
  • Employee Relations: Serves as front line support relative to employee inquiries and general employee relations issues and resolves issues as appropriate. Refers complex issues to HR leadership for investigation.
  • Counsels managers relative to minor disciplinary issues.
  • Assists in communicating and enforcing various HR policies and procedures.
  • Benefits Administration: Administers the group health and retirement benefits including ensuring that the necessary systems contain the most updated information.
  • Other: Independently manages the leave of absence process.
  • Ensures that employee data is properly maintained in the HRIS system by submitting the required data changes to the HR Service Center. Audits employee data and submits corrections as appropriate.
  • Other duties as required or assigned.
Job QualifiationsRequired:
  • Bachelor's degree in business administration human resources or equivalent knowledge required.
  • Minimum of 3-4 years HR experience required including experience in at least two (2) of the following disciplines: employee relations, HR data processing, benefits administration, leave administration, HR policy interpretation formulation, HR reporting, and or payroll administration.
  • Must be proficient with a Human Resources Information System.
Preferred:
  • Knowledge of current federal and provincial and human resources-related laws, regulations, trends and issues.
  • Proficiency in MS office programs with advanced Excel skills.
  • Must have demonstrated strategic and innovative thinking, problem-solving and analytical skills while at the same time always be open to fulfilling organizational transactional and administrative duties.
  • Ability to analyze data and create and communicate recommendations in easy to read formats based on data to meet desired business objectives.
  • Excellent communication, analytical and interpersonal skills.
  • Accurate detailed and deadline driven.
  • Demonstrated initiative to work independently as well as in a team environment.
  • Some knowledge of ADP Payroll an asset.
  • Prior experience with SAP is highly preferred.
