We have an opportunity for a Senior Human Resources Business Partner.Job SummaryThe position of Sr. HRBP is accountable to the HR Manager to conduct a broad scope of HR duties including overseeing and supporting the HRBP team with day-to-day issues that arise, providing guidance and support on employee relation issues, projects, policy development, organizational design and ensuring the consistent application of internal and legislative policies are being adhered to. In addition to overseeing the HRBP team this role will have a few dedicated departments that they will support directly.Responsibilities
- Work proactively with management and the HRBP team to serve as a resource to ensure HR policies are fairly administered and consistent with legislative requirements both Provincial and Federal.
- Leads the performance and development of all direct reports. In conjunction with the Departmental Manager conducts employee relations activities (such as: completion of employee performance reviews, carrying out performance improvement initiatives, recommend and administer disciplinary action and guide conflict resolution by investigating employee complaints and initiating suitable resolution). Partners with discusses and plays a supporting role for each human resources business partner team members plan for personal and career growth and development.
- Work closely with the HR manager to review and update HR related programs such as policy and procedure development and creation of new programs, while partnering with the HRBP team to roll out and implement.
- Review monthly HR metrics and follow up with the HRBP's where there may be opportunities.
- Strong focus on customer service- understanding the business needs and partnering with the business and HRBP's to come up with creative solutions to support the business and their teams.
- Lead the workforce planning initiative with the HRBP's and reviewing the themes and areas of opportunity based on the data across the business to determine what programs and support the business needs (ie: career discussions, career paths, talent planning tools, etc.)
- Promote positive employee relations. Identify opportunities to further enhance employee engagement through the employee life cycle.
- Leading and implementing strategic Initiatives/projects assigned to this role to completion against project deadlines.
- Ensuring timely and consistent communication with the HRBP's regarding program and/or process changes, project updates, etc.
- Raising employee relation issues and key updates by department with the HR Manager along with proposed solutions or options.
- Identifying and execute on process or programs opportunities from a continuous improvement perspective.
- Communicating HR priorities and goals with leaders & HRBP's to ensure an effective partnership, change management support, and timely implementation of plans.
- Building relationships with all employees and leaders- taking time to walk the production floor and offices talking to employees, building connections and taking an active role in social and spirit events.
- Coach, guide and provide tools to the leaders and HRBPs to support their Directors and Managers on items such as:
- Degree or diploma in Human Resources or related discipline.
- CHRL designation or actively pursuing is an asset.
- Minimum of 7 years Human Resources experience in a Generalist/Business Partner role providing all end-to-end HR support to various business units and their teams. Previous leadership an asset.
- Minimum of 3 years of leading a small team of HR Generalist/HR Business Partners.
- 2 years of experience leading projects and supporting leaders at various levels.
- Demonstrated experience and success in all areas of HR (performance management, training and development, employee relations, retention strategies, policy development, organizational design, recruitment).
- U.S. experience working in a Human Resources Capacity is an asset.
- Knowledge of Group Benefits claims management including experience administering Return to Work Programs.
- Previous involvement in Employee Relations investigations and implementation of disciplinary action.
- Keen understanding of Employment Legislation both Provincial and Federal.
- Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization including the ability to guide and influence.
- Demonstrated interpersonal skills, with the ability build relationships with interdepartmental teams.
- Proven ability to problem solve in a fast-paced environment and work autonomously.
