We invite you to come to see what the power of belonging can do for you, your career and your community.The OpportunityAs a Facilities Cleaner, you will ensure the cleanliness and upkeep of the YMCA facilities. You will act in a professional manner that leaves a positive impression while helping keep our YMCA welcoming and safe for everyone; members, visitors, and staff alike. Shifts will vary and may include mornings, evenings, and weekends.Responsibilities
  • Maintains the cleanliness, neatness and organization of the housekeeping area.
  • Service, clean and supply locker rooms, public restrooms, etc.
  • Laundering of towels.
  • Clean building floors by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing or vacuuming them.
  • Gather and empty trash.
  • Clean and polish fixtures.
  • Clean windows, glass partitions, and mirrors.
  • Dust furniture, walls, machines, and equipment.
  • Mix water and detergents in containers to prepare cleaning solutions according to specifications.
Skills and Qualifications
  • Cleaning experience in a commercial establishment.
  • WHMIS training is an asset, and training will be provided if not already certified.
  • Ability to work in a physically demanding environment.
  • Flexibility regarding assigned work schedule, evenings and weekends.
  • First Aid/CPR/AED or willingness to obtain.
  • Employment is contingent on having a clean Criminal Record Check.
