- Repair and maintenance of processing and packaging equipment
- Design and fabrication of equipment to facilitate continuous improvement of the operations.
- Quickly trouble shoot, diagnose, and repair problems as they occur on any equipment or facility.
- Communicate and work in a team environment with other maintenance personnel.
- Work on projects as assigned.
- Follow preventative maintenance procedures.
- Other duties as assigned by the Maintenance Supervisor and/or designate.
- Work in and promote a safe environment.
- Must work strictly in compliance with all Health & Safety, HACCP and follow all relevant GMP’s.
- Perform building maintenance, lubrication, requisition of parts and supplies.
- Other related duties as required.
- Experience operating Refrigeration equipment an asset
- 3-5 years’ experience as a licensed Millwright
- Basic Electrical troubleshooting knowledge required.
- Refrigeration “B” license an asset.
- Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written) and interpersonal skills.
- Aptitude for quick trouble shooting and diagnosis of problems with machinery, systems, and facilities.
- Industrial plant maintenance experience
- Must be willing and able to lift and or move materials.
- Able to work independently and a team player.
- Highly organized and multitask oriented.
- Experience in a computerized environment, PLC, automated equipment
- Experience in a food plant
- Strong knowledge and experience maintaining and troubleshooting Production, Packaging and Building equipment.
- Knowledge of microprocessor controls, pneumatics, and hydraulics
- Must be able to read and understand machine drawings.
- Proficiency in welding and fabrication of Stainless Steel
- Knowledge of PM programs and processes
- Must have valid Millwright 433A Redseal license
- Must be able to speak, read, write and understand the English language fluently
- Class B refrigeration certificate would be an asset
- This position requires physical effort 30% to 40% of the time entails lifting and moving heavy equipment.
- The work environment is wet, damp, and dusty and refrigerated (50-degree F or less).
- Occasionally working in freezer environment. Warm clothing is required.
- The noise level may exceed 90 decibels. Hearing protection is mandatory.
- The use of safety rubber boots is mandatory.
- All PPE must be used as required for safety.
- There may be occasional travel between plants.
