Responsibilities:
  • Repair and maintenance of processing and packaging equipment
  • Design and fabrication of equipment to facilitate continuous improvement of the operations.
  • Quickly trouble shoot, diagnose, and repair problems as they occur on any equipment or facility.
  • Communicate and work in a team environment with other maintenance personnel.
  • Work on projects as assigned.
  • Follow preventative maintenance procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Maintenance Supervisor and/or designate.
  • Work in and promote a safe environment.
  • Must work strictly in compliance with all Health & Safety, HACCP and follow all relevant GMP’s.
  • Perform building maintenance, lubrication, requisition of parts and supplies.
  • Other related duties as required.
Requirements:
  • Experience operating Refrigeration equipment an asset
  • 3-5 years’ experience as a licensed Millwright
  • Basic Electrical troubleshooting knowledge required.
  • Refrigeration “B” license an asset.
  • Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written) and interpersonal skills.
  • Aptitude for quick trouble shooting and diagnosis of problems with machinery, systems, and facilities.
  • Industrial plant maintenance experience
  • Must be willing and able to lift and or move materials.
  • Able to work independently and a team player.
  • Highly organized and multitask oriented.
  • Experience in a computerized environment, PLC, automated equipment
  • Experience in a food plant
  • Strong knowledge and experience maintaining and troubleshooting Production, Packaging and Building equipment.
  • Knowledge of microprocessor controls, pneumatics, and hydraulics
  • Must be able to read and understand machine drawings.
  • Proficiency in welding and fabrication of Stainless Steel
  • Knowledge of PM programs and processes
  • Must have valid Millwright 433A Redseal license
  • Must be able to speak, read, write and understand the English language fluently
  • Class B refrigeration certificate would be an asset
Working Conditions:
  • This position requires physical effort 30% to 40% of the time entails lifting and moving heavy equipment.
  • The work environment is wet, damp, and dusty and refrigerated (50-degree F or less).
  • Occasionally working in freezer environment. Warm clothing is required.
  • The noise level may exceed 90 decibels. Hearing protection is mandatory.
  • The use of safety rubber boots is mandatory.
  • All PPE must be used as required for safety.
  • There may be occasional travel between plants.
  • Plant environment
