Director of Supply Chain - Hard Goods Distribution (International)Burnaby, British ColumbiaLock Search Group is excited to be partnering a North American leader within the hard goods distribution sector to uncover and bring on a newly appointed Director of Supply Chain. This new addition to our client's team will be an active member of the internal steering committee that will be integral in the future direction of this organization. Our client is motivated to add a proven Supply Chain leader who has a track record of success working with a global network, specifically overseas manufacturing partners that are based in the Asian market.Please note, this is not a home-based position.The Director of Supply Chain will lead, manage, improve and streamline all aspects of the supply chain, from demand planning, inventory control and procurement, to logistics, and the optimization of their existing distribution networks. This role will focus on driving efficiencies, cost savings, and reliable delivery performance while upholding service excellence and aligning supply chain strategy with overall business goals. In this position you will work very closely with key manufacturing partners from around the world, to maximize inventory alignment and levels for a network of regional distribution centers that are strategically positioned across the United States.Responsibilities:
  • Oversee demand planning, inventory management, and replenishment activities to ensure optimal stock levels.
  • Track and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) such as inventory turnover, service levels, order fulfillment, and accuracy.
  • Design and execute supply chain strategies that align with broader business objectives.
  • Identify and implement process improvements that enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Champion the effective use of supply chain systems, including ERP and WMS - support and introduce new solutions that will maximize efficiencies
  • Drive digital transformation by introducing automation and innovative technology solutions.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing supply chain team
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, continuous improvement, and operational excellence.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to deliver supply chain initiatives and business results that are aligned with other departments including sales, and human resources
  • Optimize distribution networks to deliver products efficiently and meet customer expectations.
  • Develop contingency plans and conduct scenario modeling to proactively mitigate supply chain risks.
  • Ensure adherence to regulatory standards and corporate compliance policies.
Desired Skills & Experience:
  • Post Secondary Education in Business, Commerce, or Supply Chain Field - MBA would be a major plus
  • Certification such as APICS CSCP, CLTD, CPIM, SCMP would be a bonus
  • 5-7 years of progressive leadership experience in Supply Chain
  • Must possess direct experience with working with international manufacturing partners - preferably experience with importing from the Asian market
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills, both verbal and written.
  • Strategic thinker with a creative, collaborative approach to problem-solving and innovation.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and experience using ERP/WMS systems (testing & implementation experience would be beneficial).
  • Proven success in leading a team within a multi-site distribution setting
  • Demonstrated ability to build, lead, and develop high-performing teams.
  • Strong coaching and mentoring abilities, while holding teams accountable to results.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint).
