Job Description:Project: Eastwood Development
Location: IAMGOLD at the Westwood Mine
Rotation: 7 day on, 7 day off or possibilities 14 day on, 14 day off
Shift Length: 12 hours workers 13 hours supervision
Allowance: Will be provided based on location
Travel: Will be provided based on location

Pre-employment requirement: Drug TestRequirements: FMTM (Formation Modulaire du Québec) or equivalent (Ontario Underground Hard Rock Mining Common Core) Valid driver's license General Explosives PermitJob Summarys:Development Supervisor:The primary role of the Supervisor is to supervise a mining crew on a day-to-day basis and ensure that the tasks assigned by the Site Superintendent are completed as per instructions. The Shift Boss to direct and coordinate the activities and tasks of the work crew, ensuring that all necessary resources are available, and that each member of the crew is working safely.Requirement and Work Experience:Minimum of 10 years hard rock experience with 5 years at the Supervisory levelFamiliar with Occupational Health & Safety and Mines RegulationsBasic computer skillsMechanized (MacLean) BolterThe primary role of the Mechanized Bolter is to inspect existing underground headings, scale loose rocks and install ground support to stabilize rock mass and ensure safety using mechanized bolting equipment.Work Experience:
  • 2 years or more experience with mechanized bolting equipment in an underground mining environment
Minimum 3 years' experience as a underground minerScoop OperatorThe primary role of the Scoop Operator is to operate a LH410 yard scoop to load, haul and dump ore or waste from development and/or production area in a safe manner.Work Experience:
  • 2 years or more experience as a Scoop Operator
  • 2 years or more experience as a miner or underground Equipment Operator
Underground Truck OperatorThe primary role of the Truck Driver is to haul and dump broken ore and waste from development or production headings with a 30T truck.Work Experience:
  • 2 years or more experience as a miner or underground Equipment Operator
Responsibilities:Health and Safety:
  • Having the authority and responsibility to maintain a safe and efficient working environment
  • Following Redpath Canada Limited health and safety standards and systems, including the Five Point Safety System and the Cardinal Rules, and reporting any unsafe acts or conditions
  • Responsible to ensure proper use and maintenance of personal protective equipment required in the performance of the work.
  • Must have knowledge of the WHMIS legislation and know how to effectively use an MSDS sheet.
  • Comply with the Act and Mining Regulations that apply to the work area.
Qualifications:Knowledge Required
  • Previous underground mining experience
  • Strong commitment to safety and safe work practices
  • Ability to work in a team-based environment
  • Respectful of cultural differences
  • Eligibility to work in Canada
