Job DescriptionConfiguration Engineering SpecialistAtkinsRéalis is one of Canada's largest private sector nuclear engineering groups. We are proud to be the steward of Canadian CANDU nuclear technology.Location – Mississauga, ONYour role within the team:Reporting to the Configuration management Manager in our Mississauga office, the Configuration Engineering Specialist:
  • Performs work in accordance with CSA N286 and/or ASME NQA-1.
  • Supervises the implementation of configuration management plans, policies and procedures.
  • Supports the Engineering Teams’ identification and characterization of Configuration Items.
  • Serves as a central point of contact for Configuration Management related activities.
  • Reviews submitted Change Requests from the Engineering Teams.
  • Verifies accurate documentation associated with changes to baseline system configurations.
  • Reports on status of Change Requests to the Configuration Management Manager.
  • Attends meetings and acts as Secretary to the Configuration Management Team (CMT).
  • Supervises maintenance of the Requirements Traceability Matrix (RTM).
  • Supervises maintenance of the Issues and Assumptions Registers (IAR).
  • Plans/Performs Configuration Audits of systems to verify compliance with established baselines.

The ideal candidate:
  • BEng or BSc (Process Engineering Preferred) or higher.
  • A minimum of five years' experience in Nuclear/Aerospace/Defense or a Related Field.
  • PMP (Project Management Professional) or Equivalent is an asset.
  • Familiarity with Nuclear Codes & Standards.
  • Solid understanding of Configuration Management principles (e.g., MIL-STD-973 or equivalent).
  • Solid understanding of Requirements Management principles (e.g., familiarity with Rational DOORS).
  • Computer Proficiency (e.g., EXCEL, WORD).
  • Strong Verbal and Written Communications Skills.
  • Significant Organizational Skills
  • Some Supervisory Skills
