Program Coordinator (PT) - Refugee SponsorshipEdmonton, AB, Canada Req #218Friday, January 26, 2024Catholic Social Services is currently recruiting for a Part- time (37.5 hours/week) Program Coordinator in our Edmonton Immigration and Settlement office.This position has a weekly schedule of Monday - Friday (8:00AM to 4:30PM), some weekends and evenings may be required.Job Summary:As a Program Coordinator, you will create, enhance and maintain programs that support new immigrants and refugees and their transition into life in Canada. You will be joining a compassionate team dedicated to welcoming and serving newcomer individuals and families. Your abilities to take initiative, remain organized, and multitask will be assets in this role.Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate program implementation to ensure the Catholic Archdiocese of Edmonton (SAH) meets annual target for refugee sponsorship submission to the government.
  • Work with constituent groups and sponsors in the preparation of complete refugee and sponsor documentation, including One Year Window applications.
  • Research and study applicable laws and policies regarding refugee sponsorship.
  • Collaborate with diverse community of sponsors, constituent groups and other Sponsorship Agreement Holders (SAHs) supporting refugee migration.
  • Build or maintain strong partnership with stakeholders, including Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC), United Nations High Commissioner for Refugee (UNHCR), International Organization for Migration (IOM), and others.
  • Respond to requests for information and presentations in a timely manner.
  • Check-in regularly with sponsorship groups throughout the year of sponsorship to document experience and glean any areas requiring follow-up.
  • Conduct post arrival activities.
Education and Qualifications:
  • Post-secondary education related to Human Services
  • 2 years’ experience working in an administrative role
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Knowledge of community resources
  • Experience working with newcomers to Canada is considered an asset
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills
  • Detail oriented and organized
  • Criminal Record Check from local RCMP or City Police
  • Child Intervention Record Check
  • Experience building effective partnerships and collaborations
  • Experience in doing research, working with data, and writing reports
  • Note that this position will require some evenings and weekends.

  • The annual compensation for this position is $55,162.35 to $62,091.9 (based on 37.5 hours) and is based on qualifications and experience.
