We’re looking for our next Senior QA Engineer. Could It Be You?The Senior Quality Assurance Engineer will provide expertise in the area of QA activities for applications developed by the Questrade Technology Group (QTG), with particular focus on the trading platform, Microservices and high volume data flow and transactions. This individual will be allocated as part of a team following agile methodologies such as SCRUM.The Senior Quality Assurance Engineer will be an individual very interested in technology, particularly backend services and client/server applications. Enjoys being part of a team who builds great tools using leading edge technologies. This individual understands the concept of testability and will work together with developers and designers, providing input into their work to ensure the final product can be tested efficiently using either manual or automated approaches.Need more details? Keep reading…In this role, responsibilities include but are not limited to:Write test plans and test cases throughout the development lifecycleEnsure test plans thoroughly cover all requirements and use casesPlan, schedule and perform manual and automated software testsDevelop automated regression test suites using automated testing toolsFoster a continuous improvement approach to QA activitiesReview tools implementations and encourage best practices and sound design principles while remaining practical and deadline drivenWork closely with development to perform early testing on components prior to integration buildsAssists and actively participates in the communication between local and offshore development and QA teams, ensuring knowledge is shared efficientlyManage defect tracking; monitor and report resultsReport QA status, as appropriate, to keep project stakeholders informed on deliverables and timelinesTrain other departments on the use of custom developed toolsOther duties as assignedSo are YOU our next Senior QA Engineer? You are if you…BS in computer science or related fieldMinimum of 5 years’ experience as QA Engineering roleKnowledge of software development life cycle, methodologies and testingExperience with cloud technologies and modern pipelines is an assetSolid knowledge of quality assurance techniques, testing concepts, methodologies and toolsExpert ability to apply quality assurance knowledge to in-depth testing and test plans.Ability to apply concepts of unit, system, regression, product, integration and acceptance testingExcellent analytical skills with the ability to investigate and research multiple sourcesExcellent interpersonal and oral/written communications skills.Knowledge of PythonExperience in automation testing or coding or backend services is an assetAdvanced knowledge of SQL databasesKnowledge of trading systems and trading concepts, particularly within the equities realm, is considered an assetExperience with testing high performance systems is an assetAbility to adapt and learn quickly with any testing toolExcellent working knowledge of LINUX/UNIX and WINDOWS environmentsAdvanced understanding of automation testing methodologiesProgramming skill is an assetCompensation Information:
  • Base salary range: $100,000 - $140,000
  • The final compensation package will be commensurated with the successful candidate's experience, skills, and geographic location (Canada). It includes a comprehensive benefits plan and a competitive incentive (bonus) program for Full-Time Permanent roles.
