- Manages brokerage responsibilities for renewals of clients in the construction vertical as well as project specific construction placements.
- Provide knowledgeable leadership, insight, and direction for broking activities, ensuring consistent fulfillment of clients' expectations.
- Evaluate all solutions to identify and develop optimum risk solutions for clients.
- Create and execute broking strategy and market negotiations.
- Review of underwriting documentation, including review of contractual insurance recommendation, to create a wholesome submission aligned with strategy.
- Analyzing client specific risk exposure and details coverage requirements; preparing and presenting marketing proposals for renewals and new business;
- Design and produce analytics/modeling materials for clients, assessing and evaluating client risks to facilitate effective placement in the market.
- Oversee the design and preparation of draft proposals; negotiate and finalize carrier quotes, terms, conditions, and coverage confirmations to ensure contract certainty.
- Bind carrier quotes, review binders and policy documents, and ensure accurate coverage confirmations.
- Cultivate strong partnerships with stakeholders in the market to secure favorable terms and conditions for clients.
- Interaction with all key stakeholders: clients, carriers, WTW team members, and other third party vendors
- Work closely with associates from other departments that support the broking process (e.g., analytics, claims).
- Licenses as required by provincial law
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in construction broking
- Demonstrated technical expertise in insurance, including the ability to apply knowledge of coverage forms for program design, identify coverage gaps, and provide ongoing coverage consultation.
- Capability to oversee end-to-end management of large, complex renewals as well as construction projects.
- Adaptable to working effectively as a team or independently with the ability to adjust to tight and changing priorities and deadlines
- Demonstrated excellence in negotiation skills and influence skills are critical
- Attention to detail and refined organizational skills and ability to muli-task.
- Strong presentation skills, both written or oral with the ability to engage in complex and technical conversations at the executive level.
- Leadership skills: ability to make decisions and support them; ability to take control of own work; ability to seek guidance and coordinate with others when needed.
