If that describes you, please read on!To learn more about us, please visit: .Role ResponsibilitiesWithin the Consumer, Registry, and Strategic Services Division of Service Alberta and Red Tape Reduction, the Consumer Services Branch ensures that that the Minister's Mandate, Ministry strategic and business plan goals drive outcomes to ensure consumers are protected and a fair marketplace for businesses through effective legislative and regulatory frameworks.The Condominium Dispute Resolution Tribunal's (the Tribunal) mandate is to provide timely, fair, and independent dispute resolution services, consistent with relevant legislation, regulations, bylaws, rules, guidelines, and the principles of natural justice.The quasi-judicial Tribunal administers dispute resolution services for condominium corporations and owners in relation to specific matters of jurisdiction as set out in regulation, and in accordance with the Condominium Property Act (CPA), Condominium Property Regulation (CPR), and the new Condominium Tribunal Regulation as well as condominium corporation bylaws and rules.Reporting to the Executive Director of Consumer Services with additional accountability to the Chair of the Tribunal, the Director of the Tribunal provides strategic direction, leadership and oversight of the overall operations and administration of the Tribunal and its services.Key responsibilities will include but not limited to:
- Provide strategic direction, and oversight of the processes and associated tools and supports for the Tribunal's jurisdiction.
- Ensures the Tribunal has effective and efficient operations, processes and procedures to support the timely resolution of disputes, aligned with applicable legislation, policies, rules of practice, and other frameworks.
- Provides strategic leadership to ensure the ongoing effectiveness and responsiveness of the Tribunal, including developing and maintaining collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders, stakeholder engagement and development of policy advice and recommendations, ongoing review of processes and procedures, and addressing operational issues as required to ensure alignment with strategic plans, mitigation of emerging issues, and overall effectiveness of the Tribunal.
- Responsible for managing Tribunal's financial resources to support effective program delivery and achievement of operational goals.
- Provide effective leadership, direction, oversight of the secretariat team to achieve Tribunal and Ministry goals.
- Oversee the effective and efficient delivery of training programs for Tribunal Panel Members and employees and ensure appropriate and effective support of the Chair and Tribunal Panel members in the fulfillment of their responsibilities.
- Knowledge and experience in administrative law, dispute resolution and program development.
